No fbs scheduled either? I think you mean FCS
Football Subdivision = FBS
Still a crap schedule. All the opponents that were supposed to be good turned out to be duds.
tougher schedule strength than Oregon and K-state
Yeah - USC was supposed to play for the National Title and Barkley was the Heisman to beat.
Michigan State was supposed to be a Rose Bowl contender. What teams were "supposed to do" is irrelevant at this point.
FBS = Football Bowl Subdivision
FCS = Football Championship Subdivision
Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
scoring defense = overrated stat
FBS is football bowl series
Which is every team you have played no?
Actually ND is tied with Bama for the #1 scoring defense.
Since he meant FCS, I'd like him to show me the FCS team that Bama has already played that would have given them an advantage over them.
IMO ND defense > Alabama Defense
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
3 time POTW, member since 2006, MLWTI: 4-3
scoring defense is overrated... don't think i misspoke
best stat to gauge a defense and offense is YPP
No doubt. Wins and losses should be determined by O YPP - D YPP.
If UGA happens to somehow make it into the MNC, I hope they are playing ND over Kstate or Oregon. Fact
points are not always on the defense
turnovers and bad special team play puts the defense at disadvantages in games by giving opposing offenses short field
USC gave up 44 points to Florida... 28 of those points came from drives that combine for 88 yards... is it the defenses fault their offense/special teams gave uf short fields?? nope
They have played way above expectations and deserve respect. They remind me a lot of Ohio St in 2002. There would be similar sentiments entering the title game for Notre Dame as there were for Ohio St that year.
Football bowl subdivision
I never mentioned Bama
But you do have a 1AA team on your sched. Not going to work when the +1 scenario starts. Will actually count against you.
It means that I would rather play ND than Kstate or Oregon. To be honest, I would rather play ND than anybody in the top 10 of the BCS standings.
After watching Bama the last two weeks I agree. Our pass rush is much better than Bama. We don't have to blitz nearly as much to get after the QB. I'm rooting for KSU to win out and hoping Oregon loses along the way. We would match up perfectly with KSU.. Have to get past USC first, always a tough task..
A&M, LSU, and Oregon are the only teams I wouldn't feel good about.
