Very interesting stat.
correct me if I'm wrong but haven't those 2 wins come against really easy teams Notre Dame had no business playing? Like for example... Hawaii?
PositivePete- Dasshatriggeman is a bama plant on this site. His dugie houser underling always up votes him.
Since 1999 they are 15-40 vs ranked teams, 4-24 vs Top 10 teams.
But really, their past records in bowl games and against ranked teams don't really apply to this team, this year. They are obviously better than they have been. Not that it means they'll give Alabama a tough game, but they are at least 3-0 against ranked teams this year, 1-0 against the one Top 10 team they played (Stanford).
Of course, that might not mean anything either. The last time they beat 3 ranked teams in one year was 2002. That year, they were 4-0 against ranked teams going into the USC game....and lost 44-13. Then they lost to NC State 28-6 in their bowl game.
And yeah, they beat 7-7 Hawaii and 7-6 Miami.
Before that, they had lost nine straight...the last win being 1994 against Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.
nd is undefeated, either 4-0 or 5-0 when they're ap #1 and they're playing ap #2.
also, leahey, ara, hoth all won titles their third year.
i hate stats like this. i think bama wins and should win comfortably...but nd has found ways to win this season
And Miami, ND also sucked since 1993 point of OP is what? We sucked, we know.
5-1 against Bama and BK is going for his 200 win, means nothing.
