What do you think about the Chizmaster as a DC? Been seeing his name thrown around.
Gracias in advance mis amigos.
That is all.
I liked him at AU as a DC.
2001 (year before Chizik):
Total D 39th, Scoring D 48th
I'd give CptAU's left testicle to have those kind of numbers again.
It's what makes the last few years with him as the head coach that much more puzzling. We had good talent back from '02-'04, but GD.
TURDS ALL UP IN THIS MUG. /// "2010 Auburn Tigers, my favorite team. Unbeaten in all ways." -- Dan Wetzel, April 4, 2013, 6:29 p.m.
The less responsibility he has, the better he is as a coach. He'll be a good one for somebody.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
I liked him as DC. You just need a strong HC to make sure he makes his side practice tackling. So for USC I think it would end badly. For someone like FSU I think it would go well.
A lot of coaches have a clause in their contract that negates a significant portion of their buyout as soon as they take a new job. Basically, he would lose millions of dollars if he took a job the first year. He will take a year off unless he is retarded.
"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
He would lose about 2.5 million off his Auburn contract. So depending on how much USC or another school is willing to pay he will lose a little under two million. Lots of coaches believe if you take that year off your name gets a little stale in searches though. I don't think it is a real smart move but I've never called him a smart guy.
Personally, I would prefer a more aggresive coach, especially if I could get the kind of talent USC can. The Chiz plays almost a bend but dont break style of defense that tries to keep the ball in front of them and gambles that the offense cant execute a 9 or 10 play drive in order to score
I honestly believe that the reason his defenses at au looked like garbage and to a lesser extent uscs looked pretty bad this year, is because the Tampa 2 is dead...to many teams get the ball out of the qbs hands so quickly that the cushion is too much but thats just my opinion. When he was a DC he was great but football has changed a lot in terms of style of offenses since he was at au
great dc. not good hc. kids love him. moms love him. he wouldnt like kiffin tho i dont think
We also had a terrorizing defensive front. A thorpe award winner. Two great safeties.
That always helps...miss those days
If you would like more Monte-esque Tampa-2 nonsense, the Chizaster is your guy.
Started at the bottom, now we here.....better get used to it.
Good responses, thanks fellas.
Your recruiting would be straight five stars though.
Outside of recruiting, sounds like a match made in hell.
Let's pray about it.
