Would be interested in hearing your story. I have three, so I'll keep them short.
- At age 7 a teenager held me under water at a local slip-n-dip to the point I lost consciousness. Lifeguard performed CPR and got me breathing again. Kids dad sincerely hugged me as if I was his and told me he would make sure his son never saw the light of day till his lesson was learned. (Looking back I can say that was a classy move).
- At age 9 I was riding 4-wheelers with my pops and I turned around to see where he was and accidentally drifted into the the middle of the road. A jeep comes flying over the hill as I'm turning back around, all I see is a flash of red and white while rocks hit my face and chest. Everyone walked away ok.
- At age 11 I lived with my moms for a year (violent neighborhood). We'd always have our friends over (two apartments down) to chill out with us till our parents all got home (after school). Someone broke in the back door before we got home and was literally hiding upstairs under the very bed we were all sitting on. Two shots were fired through the floor to scare us out of the room, he runs out unidentified and 30 minutes later we're all still crying in the fetal position when the cops and our parents show up. 2 months later my dad had custody of us both.

"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Had a shotgun pulled on me at the cemetery visiting my dad one night. Worst part was I was standing about where my grave would have been if he pulled the trigger.
That's crazy on a couple of levels, what did the guy want if I may ask?
Interesting thread, Red.
I had a guy open fire on me on I-85 for merging into traffic in front of him coming onto the interstate off the ramp..
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
I have no idea how I would have reacted to that.......after I pissed myself of course.
He lives close to the cemetery and it was late.(I don't normally go late at night, but it had been that kind of day) His house had been robbed a week or so earlier. I was about five yards from the end of barrel I just closed my eyes and slowly raised my arms.
I basically floored it for my life, that and light traffic saved my life.
Amazing how quick life "could" end for a person when their doing the right things at the wrong time.
No doubt! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of vehicle were you driving at the time and did he attempt to catch you at all?
He did sped up behind me for a minute, I was in an 03 Mustang GT, and he had a, for lack of a better word, 'hoopty car' , so luckily, I just left the scene faster than he could.
Scariest moment in my life..
He shot at me at least 4 times that I know of, 2 of the bullets embedded in my right rear quarter panel.. the other two, one whizzed about 6-7 inches behind my head and through the window, the other one just missed,

I have also been robbed at shotgun point in downtown Montgomery at a red light right beside Wendy's ..
I hate this place sometimes
[wow] on both accounts!
I put a fork in a wall outlet and lived.
3 months ago came about a foot from being tboned...the car stopped just short..they were texting and didnt see the light change
1 month ago got drunk and tried to light a fire with a Molotov and it didnt bust (went through a door), i went back in after it and forgot that we poured gas and diesel all over the pile, fumes lit as i was one step from being out with the still lit molotov, i was engulfed
1 year ago riding my 4 wheeler behind a truck about 30 mph after planting foodplots, dogs run out at me and i looked down to make sure i didnt hit it and when i looked up the truck had stopped due to another dog, locked breaks and was perpendicular to the road on the front wheels
I had to be revived after getting hit by a boat while riding a jet ski.
So did you see a bright light or anything?
My Wife (BOL Member) and actually commented in your dog thread the other day, always enjoys your threads
Had a friend who dated this guy who was going though a bunch of mental issues and decided to take it out on her. I get a text from her and head over to his place where he has a gun laid on the table.
My first thought was oh shit he's gonna kill himself. She's hysterical and he pulls the gun on her, puts one in the chamber and has it pointed at her yelling at her to shut up. In my stupidity, I stood in between with them.
I talked him into letting her go and ended up being in his house just him, trying to talk sense into him until the police showed up.
Staring down a loaded gun was not fun
You have to have more near death experiences, that are alcohol related, amirite?
I'm a functional drunk
I'm actually glad to hear that
