A new college rule was approved today that will result in ejections for helmet to helmet hits. If the hit happens in the 2nd half, the player will then also not be allowed to play in the first half of the next game.
There are going to be a lot of BS ejections. This is terrible.
The NCAA has voted to add ejections to intentional above-the-shoulders penalties while the NFL is toying with a Saturday Super Bowl and an extra 35-feet of field.

This can't be real. How many BS calls for helmet to helmet were called last year? At least one a game. This would completely change the game with a team losing two players a game. Man I hope we are not the team that loses the very important game next year because of losing our star player to a BS call.
Edit: Ah, "intentional helmet to helmet". That's different. I bet they don't call something like that very much. In fact, I thought it was already basically mandatory.

Goodnight, sweet football
They should get rid of hard shell helmets and switch to all Tempur-Pedic helmets.
It will absolutely change the game when a star safety lights someone up who ducked right before getting hit. I can't believe this.
So an incidental helmet to helmet hit can be subject to ejection but hitting a guy with your helmet at his knees is acceptable as long as it is from the front?
XoGisele, Ashley Sky, Niki Skyler
Are you actually Aussie? And aware?
Offensive player initiates helmet to helmet probably 60% of the time. This needs to go both ways, IMO.
Defenders can't help it when the offensive player lowers his helmet into his own. Not his fault. Its the offensive players fault. One more step to becoming flag football.
Omg, tired of these suits that NEVER played football in their life making bullspit like this. Helmet to helmet is IMPOSSIBLE to avoid at times. It's a violent game, world is full of liberal pansies nowadays.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
Time to break out the flags
This could get real ugly.
If hits like this are ejectable then I may give up football.
Teein' Off on Links
shit was dead years ago.
in just two more years, you will witness the advent of flags.

Wait.. Does it not have to go through one more approval? Or was this the last one it was waiting on?
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
And I agree with this
well, then, the stiffarm to the defender's facemask would then need to be reviewed.
that shit is horrid

Ref can't properly diagnose helmet to helmet in real time. I hope this is a rule they don't utilize much
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
Love it..! Ex- players are the only ones worthy of speaking on this, tho..
Grow a backbone !!
((((so u can break your neck, i guess-)
F all these broke ass NFL players suing over this bullshit. They have ruined the game.

Football is going to hell. Between not knowing if a game your team wins will count in a few years, to the never ending investigations and scandals, to the yearly rule changes and turning the sport into flag football, to the stupid thug players that should never be anywhere near a college campus for any reason...
I am about to give up on the sport. It is just becoming harder and harder to care about it or enjoy it.
welcome to my world, 2 years ago
Yeah football is done son, its only gonna get worse at a continued rapid pace
Ill enjoy trolling its downfall though, I have a lot of told you so arguments to live out
I've been talking about the end of football for almost 5 years now and many of my friends in real life were major dicks about how stupid I sounded back then
I love reminding them about this every time something like this happens, there is no chance for football to survive at this point and few little don't see it anymore cause its long past obvious
This sport is gonna look very different in 5, 10 and 15 years from now
