Thats not saying much
nope, but there have been a handful of defenses that have stopped him. msu, whose coach is a disciple of saban's, being the most prevalent.
You are nothing but poor and out of touch... like notre dame
And I'll refer you to the NCAA website with the official record book, and not a website that misspells "Pittsburgh."
We won at least one NCAA-recognized poll in: 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1918, 1923, 1925, 1926, 1932, 1933, 1947, 1948, 1964, 1973, 1985, 1997

at least ND has titles to back up their blue blood status
OK- who has Bama faced since Cam?
JJ? Shaw? Whoever QB'd at Florida?
Don't think Bama's faced Murray since Cam..
Tyler Wilson- OK- and Bama took care of him quite easily..
So sure, Denard is probably the best QB Bama's faced since Cam.. not sure what that means though as Bama hasn't really faced that many good QBs since Cam
This guy gets it
you guys should look at the 2nd post itt.
**quoted wrong guy. in response to the guy asking how many bama defenders run 4.3s.
On defense you don't have to run as fast as the guy. Just take great angles and be disciplined. You think Marcel Dareus could outrun Cam Newton? No. But when 1 on 1 in space guess who made the play?

The REC just cancelled his BOL card...
Don't like Rammer Jammer? Probably because you just lost to Bama... Get ready to hear it again... and often...
come on no mich fans, you know its all coach speak. shoot, Tress used to make it seem like D2 programs were legit threats.
why on earth would Saban NOT say something good bout them? Denard is a great college player, but far from a great qb.
Lol you didn't win in 73 64 or 85
Check the record book.
Frankly, as Alabama fans were told from 1997-2007.........No one gives a damn about Michigans history. Michigan has been average at best and quite frankly, over the past several years, Auburn has been a better program in a better conference. Truth. Auburn is on your level. Recruits don't care about history and tradition. Its all about what the current staff can sell them on. Auburn has history and tradition. You should read about football outside of your own team every once and awhile and educate yourself.
The only reason Michigan can even claim BlueBlood status is because of wins. They have 1, yes 1 National championship since 1949. Auburn has had 2 since then. Plus 1 that that anyone actually cares about. A very recent one.
Not unless Auburn has 11 national championships. But UM and Auburn both do have three Heisman Trophy winners each ... which is 3x as many as Alabama.
Of course they do, but not as much history (and tradition) as blue blood programs (Ex: Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, or Alabama).
Michigan has 1 National title since 1949. No one really cares about anything before 1960 anymore.
They really need to quit living in the past
Well, if history doesn't matter then none of it does and we are all starting at zero. You don't get to selectively choose which history to count and which history to exclude. That puts you on the same footing in the SEC as Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Congrats!
It really depends on what your definition of history and tradition are IMO. They've been around for 100 years so they've got plenty of history. They've got 3 Heisman trophy winners. They compete with a Blueblood in a small state for talent. They've got Toomers Corner, a pretty good fight song, arguably the loudest stadium in the SEC, several undefeated seasons, etc. I know Michigan has history and tradition but I couldnt tell you anything about it other than Hail to the Victors. I think you, me and a lot of other people have put our own programs on a pedestal that we have some level of greatness thats unattainable outside of our campus. Its just simply not true.
The only problem with that is that you're picking an arbitrary time, and then pretending that's when college football began. Excluding almost 100 years of college football is a very weak way to argue historical point (blue blood programs).
But here's a modern stat for you: Michigan has had 2 losing records in the last 45 seasons.
According to the NCAA we do.
History and tradition do count. It counted when we sucked but at the end of the day, all that history and tradition doesn't do much good if you're not winning in the here and now. It didn't help me sleep any better at night and I'm sure it didn't help Michigan the last few years during Rich Rod. It does help in e-wars but only very little.
