Games against speed teams will continue to be a challenge for Notre Dame.
The Irish caught a break last year (and will again this coming year) in catching Oklahoma in a down cycle. It would've been much tougher if the Sooners were their usual selves.
ND also has an 8-game series coming up against Texas. Texas will be back to their usual selves by the time they face the Irish, and their team speed will be a test.
Point made, but OL recruiting from 09-12 was getting 2-3 guys a year, and half were 3* work in progress type kids. Last years class we got 5 upper tier to elite OLineman and this year we already have 4. The team everyone saw last year was very thin coming off a spree of transfers, career ending injuries, etc. and unlike most schools who have 100 kids in the summer, when we lose people we either give scholis to walk ons or just play with less than 85.
Wrong. See Stanford vs Oregon. Bama being faster was not what the difference was. The difference was a great coach who has been there & done that, with a team full of kids who have been there & done that against a coach who was there for the first time with a bunch of wide eyed over achievers. Speed had very little to do with it. ND could have been faster than Bama & still would have lost by at least two scores.
Kind of like all that speed Miami brought to the Sun Bowl and Soldier Field?
Bama isn't a good example. they were bigger & faster.
Bingo. Dmo angry ITT, got all 3 of his dvs in a row. Hahaha.
Sorry. I don't down vote
3 time POTW
Miami is a shell of themselves. Don't act like Miami brought elite speed to Chicago last year.
You'll see speed in Tallahassee next year.
Just saying, all we heard about was "Miami's world class speed" for weeks heading into last seasons matchup.
FSU got lucky last time they beat us and I highly doubt it will happen again.
Dunno, we are more than likely losing Nix and Tuitt this year.
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
They did not get lucky. Diaco, for whatever reason, called off the dogs in the second half after the Irish were in Manuel's grill the entire first half.
Yeah,ok. You tards got lucky we played a bad half and didnt beat you turds by 42. We will embarrass you losers in 14.
Tuitt will stay for senior year. Book it.
I can't wait.
9-3 this season...
I'll take it a step further..National champs in the next 5 years.
No...more like FSU WRs in the second half of the Champsbowl.
Miami sucks dude.

Can anyone tell me what happend last time Notre Dame visited FSU if I recall in 2002?
Wasn't it our safety Glenn Earl who hit your QB so hard he shit his pants lol.
Remember that Golson will be back in 2014!!!
We all know Miami sucks but they talk such a great game then fail to show up.
Very intelligent post, IMO.
A game in 2002 will definitely matter to the outcome of a game in 2014. In fact, I am going to go ahead and make a bet that the score will even be exactly the same.
Wasn't really trying to make any kind of point with that, just reminiscing a great win from the last visit in Tallahassee.
Go ahead and put that bet in.
standard logic and debate when talking to ND or Miami fans.
It's all about what they used to do.
