    Wow.

If LSU wins it all this year, then LSU would be the prohibitive favorite to win it all next year with all that returning talent.

And lol @ the portion of the LSU fanbase that wanted to run Les Miles out of Baton Rouge.

Unlike some of my Michigan brethren, I always liked Les Miles. Dude knows what's up.

Yeah our fan base wanted his head but I'm glad now our AD stuck with the guy. We need that blue collar, physical style he brings. Run the ball, play action and D.

He knows how to recruit to needs and the importance to depth. Any position could get injured and there would honestly be no drop off in the back up this year.

A ton of LSU fans are eating crow this year, a 73-17 record is tough to argue. Plus we have always been a great road team under Miles. Lots of people are eating what they use to say about the guy.

Who do you guys return next year?

Our whole OL will be back plus our best one in Josh Dworzchk (sp?) who got injured in the Spring, Ware and company will be back, all the WR's.. I don't see Randle going pro this year, with Mett at QB.

We lost Claiborne and Brandon Taylor on D.. Montgomery, the Freak, Brockers, Logan, Mingo, Ego Ferguson will all return. Mathieu, Simon, Eric Reid, Craig Loston, Kevin Minter and co will return.

So we don't lost much, at all next year.

I'm curious as to how you guys will look next season.. Rebuilding? or plug in the next big recruit and do what you guys do as usual?

WE are going to look like this next year IMO.

    LT- Koundijio(Sp?)
    LG-Warmack---Returning
C- B. Jones(Best way for him to get into the pros)---Returning
    RG-Steen...thats my best guess---Returning
    RT-A. Koundijio(Sp?)
    TE- Williams----Returning

    QB- AJ---Returning
RB- Lacy(Vey excited to see him get a good amount of carries)---Returning
    FB/HB- Fowler---Returning
    WR- D. Carter
    WR-D. White---Returning

    DE-Square---Returning
    NT-D. McCullars(if we get him)
    DE- Williams---Returning

    Jack- Hubbard/Dickson
    Mike-Mosley/Depriest--Returninig
    Will-DePriest/Mosley---Returning
    Sam- Atchison?

    CB-Milliner---Returning
    CB-Fulton/Dixon(If we get him)

FS- Lester(If he comes back. I personally think he does)---Returning
    SS- Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix

    P-Mandell---Returning
K- Griffith(The Freshman will come in and whip both our current kickers asses they will quit and he will start...but for real he starts no matter what)

Note: I put returning by DePriest and Mosley's names because i am not sure who plays which middle LB position

  • So i am getting about 12 out of the 22 coming back next year. With some luck we will be in the running for the MNC. I doubt we win it. In 2013 We are going to be the team to beat in my opinion

Thanks, that's still a very solid team. Should be another 10 win season but I don't see MNC but 2013 I think you guys will take it with those guys grown up.

Jessie Williams and Square being back is very big.

I also expect Fowler to bruise some people up next year.

Gus Malzhan can give the SEC a going away gift by exposing Saban's 3-4 defense. If he schemes to nullify the nose tackle while using Lutz, Phillips, and Fulse to contain the outside linebackers, Bama's daunting defense will become average. Everyone knows the engine that runs a 3-4 is the OLB's and NT. Auburn's offense is loaded with weapons. The offense is loaded with so many weapons the Gus has found it difficult to incorporate all of them. The weapons: Dyer, McCalebb, Blake, Reed, Bray, Carr, Benton, Uzomah, Frazier, Fulse, Mason, and Stallworth. Auburn will have to not use one of their 3 WR in a game against Bama. The WR will be replaced with an extra tightend. Auburn can even use all 3 tight ends in some sets while using Lutz or Uzomah in the slot for size across the middle of Bama's defense. Frazier must play, because with the loss of a WR spot that is sometimes used for McCalebb when Dyer is on the field, he will be able to give Auburn a dual threat to rush at all times. With this set, Auburn will have the bulk to nullify Bama's 3-4. But, do not be fooled, because with the amount of speed that Auburn has to spare with their weapons, they will still have the ability to strike quick.

P.S. remeber to always down vote. It is like poisoning oak trees.

FWIU, we're going to be blocking Upshaw with Clint Moseley a lot.

Man Landon is so hard to read right now. I know Eric Reid went back to Dutchtown when Collins was getting his Under Armor game jersey. The school had a big celebration and they are good friends.

Landon is also friends with Eddie Lacy at Bama so it's a tough call.

He will announce during the AA game and I think it was 50/50 LSU/Bama now maybe 60-40 LSU after the win but no one knows for sure right now.

He will start or play a ton. Dude is a very, very hard worker, doesn't have a big ego and studies the game. He will be a future star no doubt so he is a must have for us.

If we lose Landon I'll be pissed and give Bama a ton of props because he's a difference maker. Watch him play, even on offense he's beasting.

It's a 6 hour drive to Tuscalooser, which I think will play a big role, plus if we have another corner drafted in the top 5 will help

  • I really want to get Collins.

With him in the game, the sad part is you are clairvoyant. I just hope that the coaches have figured Saban's 3-4 out for the sake of the oak trees. Also, it is OK to be pessimistic. I get it. But, I do not think Auburn is going to sneak up on Bama. We sure as hale did not sneak up on Georgia. Some poster named fatone went completely ballistic on TBB about beating Auburn and so did his favorite team.

I was going to put that in my post about putting Fowler in FB.

We have done that with our "future" stars.

Jacob Hester started as a FB.

Charles Scott started as a FB.

This year Kenny Hilliard played FB for the first few games behind the other guys, Ware gets suspended and Hilliard goes off in the next game just by getting field experience.

I love the way things are being ran this year... Bama with a big FB, ouch.

It's ridiculous we hold teams to an average of 181 yards per game through 10 games.

    It's almost not believable.

  • Fans I the #3 team in the country....... I ask..... Why thall argue with fans who cheer for less superior teams than thy own? If Georgia was better than Alabama on defense then their stats would reflect it. And both teams run 3-4's out of entirely different schemes.

    1. "while using Lutz, Phillips, and Fulse to contain the outside linebackers,"

A solid "theory", but while Lutz could probably hold his own there is no way Phillips, who has looked at-best inept and lost this season, would get destroyed as would true freshman Fulse.

    2. "Auburn's offense is loaded with weapons."

Yes, Dyer is very very good. He is an all SEC caliber back, to me he is behind only Trent Richardson and Marcus Lattimore (in no order). Further, Emory Blake has proven to be one of the better WR's in the SEC this year. As for the other players you named, I would be shocked if combined they matched either player's production.

Auburn will play very hard, its the Iron Bowl, but I just don't see a scenario where Auburn wins this game. Too much youth on Auburn's roster. However, I think your biggest asset is that you're playing at home where you haven't lost since 2009.

If UGA's 3-4 caused AU fits then they're going to be in a world of hurt in 8 days. UGA's LBs and DBs aren't in the same hemisphere as Alabama's.

Well, you are entirely wrong about our LBs and DBs, but dead on with the, "Yeah you guys will kill Bama's 3-4 because Gus did such a FANTASTIC job of figuring out UGA's 3-4, after all" sentiment.

  • TalHawkins112 said... (original post)

Obviously you haven't seen DeQuan Menzie, Dre Kirkpatrick, Dee Milliner, Courtney Upshaw, Mosley or Dont'a Hightower

Boykin is the only one of yours who would play for us, and he would be behind Dre and Menzie. Upshaw, Hightower, and Mosley would all start for UGA.

There's a reason we lead the nation in total defense. In fact:

    By Chris Low

"A little bit of this and a little bit of that as we point ahead to Week 12 in the SEC. Alabama is No. 1 nationally in total defense, holding teams to an average of 181.4 yards per game. That's 64 yards fewer than any of the last four teams to lead the SEC in total defense. Alabama was the SEC's total defense leader in 2010 and 2009. The Crimson Tide limited teams to an average of 286.4 yards in 2010 and 245.4 yards in 2009. Tennessee led the SEC in total defense in 2008, limiting teams to an average of 263.5 yards, while LSU was the SEC's total defense leader in 2007 and held teams to an average of 288.8 yards per game. .."
