Are you kidding me? Do you democrats support this? How is this constitutional?
From Yahoo! News: SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois is the fourth state to allow illegal immigrants to obtain a driver's license with a new law signed by the governor.
This is just pathetic. Why give anything to illegals? Kick their ass outta the country.

What part of the constitution would this violate? Please be specific.
Jesus Christ this country is f-ing retarded
Good. Let them take driver's education classes and get insurance. Maybe it'll even help them with their English!
IL is now the lowest credit rated state. A minus with a negative watch. They just got downgraded. Maybe Obama will bail them out to

My son's message to Obama, Clemson, and Georgia
That's all you have? Are you supporting this?
Congress has constitutional authority to implement immigration policy for the country. This sidesteps and undermines the whole process.
Improving the lives of people living in this country is...bad?
Where in the constitution does it state u must be a US citizen to drive?
Are you retarded or just stupid?
Just like the other deflector, ask a question. I think you are missing the part about breaking the law to be here in the first place. How can we create new laws when we don't enforce the ones that we have? Do you think they will be forced to get auto insurance like Americans have to? Do you think they will be allowed to vote with these US drivers license even though they aren't citizens? Those are rhetorical, you know the answers.
I'm sure it says somewhere that you have to be here LEGALLY to drive
Oh come all ye illegal immigrants
Come and get them green cards
And learn some damn english
And then how to drive
You must be the stupid one. Where in the Constitution does it say you have to stop at stop signs? Where in the Constitution does it say we can't rob banks at knife point? Since it doesn't say either of those then should we just assume it is ok?
I'm down for a shoot on sight policy on our borders with Mexico.
I'm sorry, but I find it absolutely hilarious that you posted this about a minute after posting "Just like the other deflector, ask a question."
Ask, and ye shall receive. Gimme a sec to read the law.
If we were to kick out or immediately legalize all aliens and then force businesses, who had been getting away with paying employees sub-minimum wage, to pay the required minimum, how many unemployed citizens or bankrupt businesses would we have?
Wow. Good God people, I don't even see how there could possibly be a debate over this bill.
The primary purpose of the new law is to document all the drivers in the state. By issuing licenses, the state is setting in motion the process for illegal immigrants to get car insurance, thus greatly reducing the number of uninsured drivers. In addition, it's making the roads safer by ensuring that a greater number of people will actually have passed basic driving tests to obtain their licenses.
Anyone who has ever been in an accident with an uninsured/underinsured driver should be applauding this bill.
Oh, and BTW - half of the Republicans in the Illinois senate voted for this. Before people go all paranoid, this was actually bipartisan - the Democrats aren't trying to pull some stunt here.
THEY TOOK OUR JERBS
i saw my video was becoming... outdated. so i made a new one with all of the newer "took er jerbss!" action. Enjoy.
Bonus song at the end :)
Yes, Congress gets to set immigration policy... but that doesn't mean they have exclusive authority in the area of who gets drivers licenses. Constitutionally, this is more of a state-level licensing issue and less of an immigration issue.
(Also, you should probably be aware that you just made an argument against state-level immigration crackdowns like those in Arizona, Georgia, Alabama, etc.)
You must be easily amused. I asked a question and he responded with another question. I answered his question and asked another. It's how queries work. Did I answer his questions with other questions?
I tried to tell y'all that, I live in Northern Illinois. I could write a book about everything like this that goes on here
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
I'm all for allowing them to become legal tax-paying residents, but in general, as soon as the concept of amnesty comes up, Republican politicians start foaming at the mouth.
As for why we shouldn't deport the, sf2k4 alluded to it already: the dirty secret that nobody wants to confront is just how much of the American economy relies on cheap illegal immigrant labor.
I'm guessing that you support this and that was what I was asking. Yes, those states that you listed are doing the same thing. However, they are making laws that are in line with not give rights to invading illegal aliens, which is in line with their interpretation of Article IV, Section 4 of the constitution.
