"So far there hasn't been an outbreak of anything, but ... it's in the Gulf. It's warm," he said. "You don't have sanitary conditions, so hopefully they'll get back to shore ... before anything breaks out."
Raw sewage is a major health risk, Rodriguez said, but respiratory infections could also spread quickly. Spoiling food could unleash e. coli bacteria, salmonella and other types of food poisoning.
"People on that cruise need to be careful for the next day to couple of weeks," he said. "They may have contracted something that's just sort of festering under the surface and won't come to full-blown infectious status for the next couple of weeks."
A Carnival cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico with about 4,200 passengers and crew is being towed to Alabama after a weekend engine fire.

I would hope so
From what I understand they would get a refund, transportation expense, a free cruise in the future, and $500 cash.
Currently crapping in plastic bags, and then placeing those in bigger bags. Whew, if the ol diarhea breaks out, will get uglier.
The article said full refund of ticket price and on-board expenses, $500 stipend, free flight home and credit for a future cruise. I think they'll still have some lawsuits on their hands, but there's not a whole lot that can be recovered.
i saw a headline that they were offering more money to them... i can't find it now, busy at work
Well unless it can be shown that the engine room fire was caused by negligence, I'm not sure if any lawsuit will actually have a case. But you are right there will be some lawsuits.
Yeah, I wasn't saying any of the lawsuits would have any substantial basis, but Americans are angry and litigious people, so I have to imagine someone will try to file a lawsuit for "mental anguish" or something similar.
Hahahahahaha ohhhhhh. Carnival...never a dull moment...
This isn't the first or second time the Triumph has gone afoul....
Hey thanks for the voucher for a free future cruise. Can't wait to get home and start planning my next cruise
Just poop over the side of the ship, there is plenty of shit in the ocean. It's not like your poo would do anything.
They're both out to get Norwegian....it's quickly climbing the list for best Cruise Line
doesn't flipper shit in the ocean? Just like every other animal? Flipper swims in shit 24/7/365... Festering poop and piss will kill... fast, people should be pissing and crapping over the side of the boat.
the only thing cruises are good for is the all you can eat buffet and the random blowies from girls you'll never see again.
