It is more socially acceptable to marry your first cousin and have a kid with that person, than to gay marry and adopt a child out of a foster home in North Carolina. Glad you showed your true colors, Tar Heel state residents.
Black Shoes. Basic Blues. No Name. All Game.
Also, you believe in Bigotry. Fact.
Also, Republicans believe in Big Government, and are anti-individual freedom. Fact.
Also, This is the exact same thing as voting for blacks to not be allowed to vote, because they are sub-human. Fact.
30 states don't allow it in this country so how about not singling out one because it's the trendy thing to do?
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
Personally, I single all 30 of them out.
Because North Carolina went further in their Bigotry and said that not even gay civil unions and domestic partnerships are legal. It's pure legislated bigtory not seen since the Jim Crow laws.

Interesting that this state also voted yes to ending Interacial marriage in the past.
Social conservatives are turning America into a 3rd world nation. We have more legislated bigotry in America than any industrialized nation in the world.
North Carolina said it was better to have marriage between two people that is more statisitcally likely to involve domestic violence, then marriage between two people that is more statistically likely to be peaceful.
North Carolina would rather enable domestic violence, than allow gay people to live together.
I voted against the amendment as did my wife. The more populous, higher-educated counties all voted down the amendment. The religious right is very strong in this state though.
It just amazes me that it can 2012, and we still have people saying that 2 gay people, can't live their own life.
It's "religiously" and "morally" wrong for gays to get married. I've said it before and I'll say it again: people place way too much emphasis on religion in every little thing they do.

How many threads did you see when a state voted yes on gay marriage?
FWIW, I would have voted no, but I think you're a POS for this pompous ass thread.
Nobody said that. I didn't see an amendment to remove homosexuals or ban them from NC. It was a continuation of not allowing a luxury they weren't afforded in the first place.
You're on an awfully high horse and bitching about others' morality.
Good job North Carolina.
I'm sure you and your boyfriend have made other arrangements. Even if you happen to live in one of the said 30 states, destination weddings are the in thing. Again, I'm sure you've already made those plans. Congrats, BTW.
There may be light after all.

Thread is going to bring out all the crazies. I'm psyched. It's already happening.

I know, I mean it was started by one of the groupies of that crazy group, I think their called...liberals or something.
If anyone hasn't noticed it yet, Appoo has a very strong agenda.
I always find it ironic that people who want to persuade others (that they are correct) are also the ones who are most intolerant towards others' viewspoints.
God/evolution/whatever one believes gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason........
The great thing about our country is individual states can have different views on different topics and people have the freedom to move to any state they want.
If you live in a state that passes a law that has a significant impact on your life or way of living - you can stay and try to change things or move.
