Tool is the chiz
$50 bet with Rebels10 - Best of 3 Egg Bowls
**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
Anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that this upcoming will be the last album Tool ever puts out?
All-seeing instrument. Supreme perception. Omnifocal accumulator... Its gaze upon the blind. Information divinity by man designed.
Can we also add Triad to the list? It's an instrumental but I love that song.
Why do you think that?
Yes unfortunately. I can't envision them making anymore after this one especially since some members seem to be dragging their feet in regards to making the new album. I honestly would t expect it until late next summer at the earliest. In addition, they signed a 5 record deal after they made opiate and the new one will be #5. I honestly don't care if they make a new one. I've been listening to tool for so long and I never ever get sick of hearing it. It all has an everlasting effect.

Hell, I could keep going....
I just think Maynard will be on to other things. He will be focused on his winery even more than he is now, and any music he wants to do with be through Puscifer. Tool's been around for almost 20 years, they've put out some great music. I just don't see the project extending much beyond this upcoming album. Danny Carey has the jazz fusion band he's in and will likely continue to do.
Tool released their first full album in 1993. They have 4 full albums. I don't understand why they take 6 year breaks. Maynard and 2 other APC guys have hinted in the last year of APC getting back together for another album. Will be stoked if so.
They're playing Ozzfest in Japan this May.

Can Maynard not scream anymore? I am listening to live vids on YouTube and he completely skips the part in Vicarious where he yells... some people in the comments mention age...
Puscifer > APC
Combined I would take those two over Tool, but Tool far exceeds either individually.
Tool is one of my all time favorites!
Tool>A Perfect Circle and its not even close!
I think it has a little less to do with him being able to do it and more to do with him knowing he can do it perfectly. I've never seen any other live music that sound so similar to their recorded music and if he knows it won't be perfect every time he won't do it. They rarely played vicarious even directly after the album was released
Danny Carey is amazing. He's my 3rd favorite DOAT after Neil Peart and Bill Bruford. Y'all have mentioned all the best songs already.
