Not a good comparison. Lottery numbers are not known until they are drawn, therefore there is no possible way to pick them in advance.
You can easily read the provisions of Obamacare and determine the costs and effects it will have. You can cross your fingers all you want.
I want what's best for the country regardless of who gets credit. I just don't believe it will succeed. And when it fails, I can at least take some satisfaction in watching him vilified for it. If it's a raving success, I'll be happy to admit it. I don't hate dems....I just disagree with them. And when things are bad, we find humor where we can.
Ok then, how about you run me through exactly why Obamacare will be such a failure? In your own words, please.
Since you've been old enough to follow politics, how many other pieces of domestic legislation have you referred to as being "shoved down your throat" that made it through the Senate with a 60-39 vote?
Honest question to everyone in this thread:
Do you know what adverse selection is?
Your reply would indicate that we need Obamacare shoved down our throats but just don't know it. I'm not so sure that we do. Maybe you know something that I don't.
I don't understand why everyone thinks Obamacare is some crazy revolutionary policy. It basically just forces everyone to buy health insurance(or pay a fine) and in turn forces the health insurance companies to cover everyone at a reasonable rate.
There are some medicare reforms, government subsidies to the poor, and employers will have to pay if the government has to subsidize their employees, not that crazy of stuff either. Also, the setting up of the exchanges are good, but I wouldn't see how that is controversial. I just don't see how Obamacare is so controversial other than people don't like Obama.
I know right. It's basically the exact same thing developed by the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation and pitched as a free-market based, GOP alternative to HillaryCare in the mid-90s. I can't fathom why conservatives don't support it now.
You may run like Hayes, but you hit like $*!#
Lower tax rates and a healthcare system that works much, much better.

What you left out that is that as we started to get closer and closer to last November's election, Mitt Romney while saying he was still planning on repealing Obamacare on his first day in office, he also started to say that he was going to keep more and more aspects of the legislation in place. By the time we go to Election Day, the only part he was interested in getting rid of was the mandate. Romney wanted to keep in place all of the aspects of the plan that cost money, but he wanted to ditch the mandate, which was the way to pay for all of those pieces of the reform he wanted to keep in place.
That is just flat out crazy.
Agreed. I'm waiting for the day when a coherent and reasonable "replace" portion of "repeal and replace" is finally released for public discussion. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared that it simply will be removing the requirement that hospitals provide care regardless of the patient's ability to pay.
Obamacare tries to defy the natural order of things - no society can exist if everyone is on the same playing field....
It will be reduce like welfare and all Obama promised will be reduced to a "sick call" level of care for the poor.
Saw an interview with an old hobo saying he cannot wait for Obamacare to kick in so he can get his hip replaced and shingles treated...not gonna happen....
This is a trick question. Obamacare was designed to destroy the current system such that the government would be able to take control of it.
People who want single payer are retarded as single payer as never worked anywhere in the world.

Well ... The misleading promise of a level playing field....
Does wearing a tinfoil hat all the time get uncomfortable?
Do you believe that the quality of healthcare one receives should be based solely on how much money one has?
After the age of 18 - yep
Also - not interested in treating drug addicts, gang violence related injuries, or non-citizens of the United States
Not only that but their lifestyle choices.
What do you mean by "lifestyle choices"?
I am curious. Did you go to Notre Dame?
Not opposed to single-payor necessarily, but Obamacare is s*** legislation and is possibly the dumbest thing to come out of DC in a long time if not ever. It just flat out sucks, and anybody that argues otherwise is just jumping on to the Dems wagon and playing team politics.
It's not unlikely that Obamacare could derail the Dems train for the next few years. People are going to hate it, could be a blessing for the GOP. It was truly a gift from the Dems.
Smoking, using drugs, abusing alcohol, eating McDonalds for every meal, not exercising, you know lifestyle choices.
Democrats :: Obamacare as J. Bruce Ismay :: Titanic.
Hell Stephen Colbert's sister couldn't help but admit the law was a joke in her debate against Mark Sanford.
And really South Carolina, the best you can do is Mark Sanford and Stephen Colbert's sister? Why not send a trained monkey instead?
