Obama paid 18.4% of his adjusted income in taxes. Where is the outcry? What happened to the rich paying their "fair share"? What happened to the 1% bs that he spews? I thought Americans that made that much money had to pay more for the good of the country and it was ludicrous to use loopholes and deductions.
This is just another example of do as I say, not as I do politics. Just more lies from the community organizer in chief. What a f'n hypocrite. Romney isn't looking so bad these days.
From the blog The Ticket: President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in federal income taxes on adjusted gross income of $608,611 in 2012—for an effective rate of 18.4 percent. They also contributed $150,034 to 33 charities, or 24.6 percent. And they paid $29,450 in Illinois income tax. The White House released the first couple's tax returns [...]
I don't imagine many of the Obama lovers will touch this thread. There isn't much that can be said but I'd still love to see someone try to spin this.
Final countdown will mock you...Bama will have something at least to consider.
So, what are you actually mad about? Are you mad about what you perceive as hypocrisy or are you mad about the his effective tax rate?
Hypocrisy. I like how you say that it is perceived when he campaigned all year on how Romney's tax rate was equal to him cheating the system and his minions echoed how wrong it was that Romney paid less than 20%. Also, he is quick to say that "rich" people shouldn't be allowed to use deductions and loopholes to pay a less % than their secretaries, but just did the same thing that he has demonized.
"Rich" is $250,000 according to Obama. $1 million was actually the Republicans number. Capital gains would actually be better reasoning because we all know that they were taxed at 15%. How is Obama's tax rate lower than mine if he didn't have capital gains?
Solid retort. I didn't really expect you to be able to bring a legit argument to the discussion though.
Do you honestly believe the only way to lower your tax rate is through capital gains?
God I can only imagine this board in 2016 when Hillary gets the nomination.
Of course it isn't, I'm not the one that mentioned capital gains. It was a question in response to his statement.
What is your opinion on Obama saying that rich people should not be able to use loopholes to lower their tax rates as he uses loopholes to lower his tax rate? That is the topic here and not all of these deflections.
So, I'm curious - what's your feeling on the actual tax rate? Is it wrong for him to pay such a low tax rate? Should the rich pay at least as much as their secretaries - basically, should the Buffet Rule be enacted?

So now that it's your guy it's the tax codes fault, but when it was the rights guy it was romneys fault.
You can't teach this kind of dumb.
