The government borrows everyone's money interest free.
I agree that Obama did nothing run with his taxes, but to try to spin what was said about Romney and other people making over $250K is disingenuous.
This was the whole point. But now that it is public knowledge that Obama does the same thing with his taxes that he demonized during his campaign, all the liberals are now using the same exact arguments that the Republicans were using 6 months ago.
There are some breaking down the tax codes, others are saying that it is the tax system that is the problem, don't see the hypocrisy, etc and they are correct. But they are correct because to defend Obama on this then they had to do a complete 180 on their arguments and now agree with everything that the Republicans were saying 6 months ago.
I agree it's stupid to withhold money that you are just going to give back anyway. But as for state income taxes being regressive, that's just as wrong as saying that federal taxes are. Poor people pay sales taxes...that's all they pay...that's it. And the rich still have the highest tax burden on the state level too.
I guess you lefties think if you repeat BS enough that it becomes true...but it just isn't true. If you think the wealthy should pay more taxes then okay we can have that debate, but don't lie about how the tax system actually works.
States that need income tax to function are retarded.
What about states that need federal welfare to function?
Which would be all states. Yes we are all retarded to give over that much power to the feds.
Well it isn't because of income taxes we know that, it would have to be because of sales taxes...poors don't own property, and spend all of their income.
BTW great source, lol, in the first paragraph was "a new study from a liberal-leaning group found."
uugghhh...I don't want to picture her fingering the button
Obama can crap and fall back in it for all I care...and all those that voted for his socialist agenda can too... yall wanted change? Well grab your sphincters boys while you can still control them... cause we're about to be "Shawshanked" until we lose consciousness
Poors? Really? Do we think so little of those under the poverty line now? How American of us.
Lol. Yeah because the poor are so noble and worthy of praise.
So we should just spit on them and kick them while they're down? As if there's no such thing as someone that is both poor and a hard worker, right? They're all just liberal leaches?
You're an asshole, plain and simple.
Should we just ignore the fact that most are leeches just because some are hard workers?
Being poor is not something to be proud of, it's a shameful state to be in, and we shouldn't sugar coat it and make it out to be okay.
Most are leeches? Could you provide some stats to back that up? A study or two?
And Jesus Christ, how elitist can you be? So a guy works as a janitor at a school and works hard but because he's poor, he should be ashamed? We should walk by him every day and tell him how awful of a person he is?
I don't know what went wrong in your life to turn you into such a bad person, but I hope one day you realize being an asshole isn't a good way to live. I work hard and provide a good living for myself and yet, somehow, I don't feel the need to look down on anyone. Because I'm a good person.
Seriously, when do we start bringing back the titles of Lords and Ladies? Dukes? How does King Obama suit you? Maybe another plague will hit and take out the filth and refuse that is the American peasant class.

I do feel nostalgic for Victorian society. A society in which everything was in order and proper.
I am not trolling either. I believe that a strict set of rules governing society is a good thing, I also believe in class mobility, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. I am a man born about 125 years too late.
Society used to look up to a well mannered Upper Class, now we celebrate the likes of Jay-Z, and the vices once mostly, not entirely though, relegated to the lower class are how we aspire to live now ...we have fallen far, no manners, no etiquette, nothing proper everything is just whatever and anything seems to go.
My God we act like the 60s was some great cultural epiphany or something, when in reality it was the beginning of the unraveling of our culture. We used to highly regard Mozart, Handel, great works of literature...our heroes were men who fought and died bravely on the battlefield and accomplished great things and led nations...now we worship athletes and celebrities and we can't name a war hero from our time because Entertainment Tonight doesn't tell us about them.
But such is our plight, it will come back around, it will be different, but it will be as it once was at the same time.
I strongly agree with everything you just posted. Although I think you've pissed off too many people for anyone to hear you in this.+1 to you sir
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’
Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. ...
There is nothing embarrassing or wrong with being poor. It's only embarrassing or wrong to stay that way. You can insert any word you like in place of poor , overweight , uneducated, etc , and it still holds true.
I think it's embarrassing/wrong to stay entirely dependent on other people, but someone could live a poor life for any number of reasons. Perhaps they don't mind a poor lifestyle and choose to give money to charity - I hardly think there is anything wrong with that. Perhaps they are trying to raise a family, and therefore any extra money (which may otherwise leave them middle class) goes to their children. Perhaps they had unforeseen medical expenses and are trying to pay people back.
I think refusal to work or laziness is morally wrong, which I think is what you're getting at, but that doesn't have to do with being poor (despite what modern republicans tell you).
I agree that not everyone wants the same life. Also not everyone thinks the same things are important. I also am 100% sure that material items and the size of your bank account don't define your "success" as a person. I was more trying to say that I think everyone has a choice and the ability to change the position they're in. Some will have it tougher than others for all types of circumstances , some self made and some just because.
I may be naive, but I still think this country affords everyone the opportunity to try and be what they hope to be. It's not always easy, but it can be done.
Obama's rich? That's news to me.
Making over 250k/yr is rich nowadays , I guess
He makes 450,000 a year plus had considerable assets before becoming President. So yeah he is pretty well off...I would say rich even.
