that wasn't the point. I asked specifically about needing a top 10/top 5 class to win a national title. I see you ignored that part. I wonder why.
Hoke isn't going anywhere. This is his dream job.
No one has a dream job of living right outside of Detroit for very long.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
Bama > Michigan... It's really that simple.
Michigan > Grumps
Columbus > Ann Arbor + Detroit, all that matters. You ain't getting rid of that ugly relative that easily.
If the city mattered, I wouldn't of left San Diego if i was Hoke.
All about the long term plan, NFL.
Im not blaming anybody.
I was using the same logic that he used to make excuses, lol.
none of those clowns for as long as saban is around
My Lions could use a good coach.
They could use a new division that doesn't have the Packers in it.
I think Hoke. Meyer was really unveiled the last 18 months in Florida. He's an incredible PR guy who can recruit and motivate but at the end of the day he's an insecure, egregiously shady, WR coach.
Meh. Got to beat the best if you want to be the best.
Wisconsin and Michigan State are basically one in the same

Yeah, it's called the Super Bowl. Not being able to go to it sucks when you have a team that will win your division for the foreseeable future.
I would go with Meyer right now, because Hoke has only been a head coach at a BCS level for one year and a lot of his success in 2011 was built on playing an incredibly easy schedule
Hoak.. cbh and his staff are working gotta give them their props! See you guys in Dallas should be fun..

I know MSU fans will disagree with this, but I think Dantonio is a lot like Kirk Ferentz. At the end of Ferentz's sixth year in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes had won back to back January games, lost an Orange Bowl, been ranked 8th after the bowls 3 years in a row, and recruited his first top-10 class. What happened then? Things cycled back down, then back up to an Orange Bowl win, and now back down again. I expect that MSU will see similar peaks and valleys if Dantonio stays in East Lansing as long as Ferentz has been at Iowa, but I highly doubt either Dantonio or Ferentz have a real national title shot at their current schools
+1 from an MSU fan.
Okay aside from your excuses because both teams can play that game. I see you fail to mention the penalties that kept you in the game. Or Keshawn Martin's dropped TD. We were the better team. period.
So let's get this straight. One poster talks about how you are not going to win a national title getting "blown out". Now MSU loses to ND and Nebraska in probably their worst performances of the year. 21 and 18 points. ND was a lot closer than that but that's what the scoreboard said. Fair enough.
The only problem with this is that a Michigan poster is referring to these losses as why MSU can't compete for a national title. What happens when Michigan loses to MSU? Hoke gets a 49% chance at a title? It doesn't add up. Let's hear a different reason other than 247 sports recruiting rankings says so. It'd be nice for a different angle once in a while.
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
The honest answer is that Dantonio is established going on year 6. I am guessing the consensus is that he has peaked at MSU. Hoke is coming off year 1 at Michigan. The consensus is that's just a starting point and Michigan will get better.
Just an opinion man.
So just because it's the consensus it will happen?
If you want opinions, I don't think Hoke has proved much yet. I mean, proved to be a decent coach, yeah obviously. But right now, his best win is at home against Nebraska. To jump to the conclusion of winning national titles and beating MSU for decades straight seems a bit premature, no?
This whole thread is the opinion of which of the 3 coaches will win a national title first. No one said it would happen. I was just trying to give you reason why a lot of people are putting Hoke over Dantonio. For what its worth, I put Meyer as the most likely to win one first.
