Oh ok. I went ahead and got the 1-6 Blu Ray collection. I was young when they came out. 8 for TPM and I liked them alright then. The older I got and the more a fan of the series I became though the less appealing they started being.
Each one of those movies was corny in its own little way. They didn't feel like Star Wars movies. Lucas almost ruined the franchise with those 3.
To be honest hearing Disney is taking over is quite a breath of fresh air.
Exactly, that's why I'm afraid of them trying.
You know if they got the people who made the orcs look so good in LoTR that would be a good start from a looks standpoint. CG would just piss me off.

I kind of like that WETA technology they used in Avatar and Planet if the Apes. Looked real to me anyway...especially in 1080p.
That's a good point going forward in each of the films. How much CG should they use in future films. Is Yoda going to be totally CG like in prequel trilogy?
If there was a Sci-Fi film I would model the make up, costuming, etc. after I would love LOTR as well. I want a more realistic looking (I know it's about aliens and is not real) but it again goes back to the serious feel of the movies and not making it too corny or cartoony.
Avatar looked pretty good, but i loved how real the orcs looked.
agreed. Maybe if Jar Jar wasn't as CG he would have been more well liked?
Agreed. Nothing beats costume/makeup.
I would be open to a real yoda, he would be more difficult to do than the vong because of the size IMO
The way things are going in the film community I expect it to be done similar to Jar-Jar, Gollum, Ceaser and they go with motion capture on someone.
Looks like it's not a Yoda film but instead a Han Solo film and a Boba Fett film.
Star Wars fans, admit it: you like scoundrels. And you’re about to get more of them in your life. Yesterday, The Walt Disney Co. unveiled plans to make a nu...
Eh. I HATE HATE HATE recasts, even in unique situations like this, but at least with a lot of Star Wars characters, they have masks or suits that allow for a seamless recasting without many issues.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
Yea. Bobas not a big deal at all. Han is gonna be an interesting one to see how they portray him though. Chewbacca won't be a problem either. It's mainly Han.
if the do something similar to what they did with looper re: face/mask on gordon-levitt/willis then it could be good. visually anyway. have to get an actor with the same smart ass, wise cracking antics that ford had/has. have to make it believable that they are sharp, quick witted rebuttals.
Yea. And I'm awful at trying to guess casting. I have no clue who they would get for the role.
Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby!
Please don't let them call it Star Wars Origins: Boba Fett.
Could be worse. They can call it Stars Wars: Bang Bang Titty Fvck for all I care. I just want the film itself to be worth a damn.
Han Solo feature too. Would rather have Yoda. Not sure who they can cast for young Han.
The characters are reportedly slated for the first two spin-off movies.
The Han Solo story could be awesome, same as Boba Fett. I was really looking forward to a Yoda one, though.
As long as it's not Shia LaBoeuf
Interesting read. Most of these are too old IMO. Need a younger Han. If I was going older I would do Josh Holloway. Dave Franco is an interesting choice for a younger version. I think an unknown might be best though.
The word is out that Disney and Lucasfilm are working on standalone Star Wars movies to hit theaters in between the episodes of the new trilogy, starting
Josh Holloway would make a good Solo. He could basically play the same character he played on Lost.
