It's crazy that congress men can keep stocks.
Every other democracy tells people to put their mOney in a blind trust while in office.
Every Other democracy has publically
funded elections too.
Just get tired of the daily Obama bitch threads. "OMG look at this one weird incident that happened in this one place thanks Obama!" or "This one report says this one metric will be slightly worse than we thought, the country is falling apart. Lets radically change our entire economy"
This report shocked the hell out of me. Ancedotal evidence in Orlando shows the economy booming.
What's funny is based on these threads, you'd think President Obama is personally firing people and hampering growth. What do you mean corporate execs aren't hiring even though they're making more money that at any time in history and doing so by cutting jobs and sending them overseas!?!!??
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
What's really funny is Joe is in his early 20's and unemployed and toots the Obama horn in every political thread on the board but can't realize that Obama hasn't done one damn thing to help his situation. What until Obamacare takes over and you see more companies downsizing or forcing employees to go part time bc they can't afford the insurance.
"People always ask me if I wish I were bigger. I tell them no. I always wanted to be a miniature badass." Dustin Pedroia
Misnomer, they can afford it, but that'd mean they can't take their million dollar+ bonuses or get their own mandatory 10% raise. These execs are uber-rich and they couldn't care less about anything but themselves. "Who cares about a couple hundred people as long as I get my bonus."
If you had a company that employed 5000 people, you wouldn't take their combined salaries, add 50% and call that your yearly compensation?? Capitalism, baby.
What's funny is you hound my posts in every political thread just to make the same comments about me. Give it a rest man.
To your point, who should I have voted for? Mitt Romney??
Says someone who doesn't have a clue on why companies earn money, and why executives are compensating fairly for it.
C'mon, everyone knows the entire point of a business is to turn a profit, but there's nothing "fair" about an executive's compensation. They get to pay themselves whatever they want. Now we could have a whole debate about that point, whether it's "good" or "bad" (it is what it is really), but it's not based on "fair." It's based on whatever they want to make.
Do you expect companies to continue hiring Americans when its in their own best interest not to? If it becomes more expensive to hire Americans, large corporations will choose not to.
Assuming the government never steps in, it will always be cheaper to outsource jobs to other countries until either (a) that country meets a similar level of quality of living this requiring a simliar level of pay as America [after which they'll outsource to another, cheaper country] or (b) robotics and machinery reach the point of affordability and efficiency that effectively end the need for human employment in certain labor tasks. One of the many reasons for unemployment in the U.S.
I think it was JC penny's CEO who just had his salary slashed 97%. It's an ungodly amount of money to be able to take that sort of lose, but to imply that executives have no one to be accountable to is just flat wrong.
The exponential growth in pay for CEOs the last 20 years hasn't correlated with an exponential growth of business.
Step out of the bubble before making silly assumptions.
Yes, and the more expensive American labor the less will be used. So an increase in the cost of labor(obamacare) will have a negative effect on hiring.
But even without Obamacare or any thing else that we used to assign to the "rising cost of American labor," it will still cost more than outsourcing to poorer countries just by the nature of us being an industrialized nation with a higher quality of living. You could strip away basically anything that inflates the cost of American labor and it would STILL have been cheaper to go to China over the last few decades, though China is creeping steadily upwards of being a more "expensive" labor force.
On the flip side, the average CEO salary rose 2% in 2011 after a 27% increase in 2010. Maybe it's not that they're not accountable, it's that some THINK that they aren't.
Then buy stock go the shareholders meetings and bitch.
Otherwise shut the fuck up about what they get paid, as I'm sure you have no idea what they do to earn their salary.
More workers bitching about their cut in hours due to Obamacare.
Obamacare was to give coverage to 15 million Americans without coverage. The CBO now estimates that Obamacare will cause upto 20 million people that currently have healthcare insurance to lose it. Now that is one hell of a plan. Spend hundreds of billions so less people are covered.
Most experts blame the numbers on the payroll tax increase bc Retail was hit so hard. Government numbers did not go down that much so Sequester had nothing to do with it.
My son's message to Obama, Clemson, and Georgia
When does the government have too big a hand in the economy? When $82B in proposed increase spending is taken away, and everyone shits their pants.
Everyone does realize that the government is spending more this fiscal year than last year, right?
Notice the libs never have a good response to this point.
I think it's safe to say we will spend more this year than last. Lol.
Ironic that that companies will employ all or more part time, eliminate benefits, make bigger profits, and the CEO's will have even bigger bonuses. They must be praising obamacare.
