Serious question to everyone who's blaming this move on Obamacare: why isn't Domino's laying workers off left and right?
hahaha i do, i appreciate you noticing, itd be cool if more people did.
Have they said they wont?
Dominos still exists?
what a teenage argument, they havent said they will, so for the basis of this discussion ill operate under the idea that they wont.
Most of Dominos workers are all ready part time.
Just because they haven't issue a press release doesn't mean they aren't looking into the numbers.
Wow. Damn them. Don't they know everyone is entitled to health care benefits.
Their pizza doesn't taste like butthole?
CEO understands progressive social change.
He agrees that if you are a full time employee you have a right to healthcare.
He cares about his employees
How about this? Papa johns owner likely did this because of obamacare but not all owners have the same beliefs. Some will likely choose to absorb extra cost others will not. It's really not that tough to understand. Owners are individuals with different ideas on how to run companies and will dosl so accordingly.
meh, the majority of people who pick up part time positions like that are either teenagers on their parents insurance or adults looking to supplement income, they dont enter into employment expecting to receive such benefits.
status, i'm speaking to you directly. you come off as blissfully ignorant and exceedingly ill-informed, i hope the day you do finally move out of your parents basement that the real world doesnt absoluetly crush you.
And you actually pretend like you understand economics.
You don't. I actually have a job and contribute to society. Thanks though.
I'm not a supporter of Obamacare, but you come off a little as if you think companies should dump all of this stuff—healthcare benefits, et al—because it detracts from making profit. Am I just assuming incorrectly, or do you not see the need for a company to take care of its employees?
i have a job as well, in an economic related field for that matter. i fully understand the issue, i also understand when someone ignored worker rights for years and now that its catching up he's just turning his back on his employees, thats a sad, sad move.
I like Papa John's, but Pizza Hut is the best.

I absolutely do. And companies were perfectly able to do that before obamacare was passed weren't they?
Its the penalties and employee # restrictions that I have a problem with and they are absolutely forcing companies to put a hold on creating jobs.
Wait. Papa John's is the beacon of truth that Obamacare is an unmitigated disaster to some people? You guys realize that Papa John himself is a huge Republican who did everything in his power to get Mitt elected. He's trying to make a Republican statement by doing this and pander to the party and why he thinks Obama sucks. It's pretty obvious this is a political statement, which is unfair to his employees in my eyes.
wow, as i said, exceedingly ill-informed.
Straw man argument if I ever heard one.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
status, you said youre employed, is it full time?
I'm quite sure he spent more money on super-pacs than it would take to cover his employees.
ok, good. do you receive health insurance in your benefits package?
It was optional and I opted out.
