I was waiting for the actual math. Thank you
He would rather make a political statement and fuck over his employees than come up with a creative solution to adjust margins by 10-14 cents.
Guy is scum
Wtf would a pizza place spend a couple thousand or more a year to pay for insurance for the delivery boy?
*A full time employee is what you meant to say
We're talking about full-time employees, not part-time.
Why spend it on a full time employee?
isn't Papa John's the one advertising that they are giving away 2 million free pizza's? Wonder how many employees that would insure?
I hear ya, but that's the cost of marketing. Though at this point, he'd certainly be better served taking to the airwaves explaining the cost increase then closing his explanation out with a "God Bless America".

It would equal more tahn double what is needed to cover his employees. The amount I heard that is needed for his employees is approx $8mil.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
You probably shouldn't be in this discussion if that is your starting point of reference
Jon Stewart did a piece on just this. Check the above link. He talks about papa john's at about the 4 min mark
Lmao. Of course when it comes to the job market. I earn my company much more than Bobby the pizza boy. therefore I make and receive more. It's a business, it's not personal.

wow, im stunned by how trivial people can view others, if you have made it and are successful, thats great and you deserve what you get but to utterly disregard someone as basically below you because you dont respect their job? everyone of us orders food at least once a week or eats out once a week, those jobs can actually be quite stressful. grow up.
You don't get health benefits at a minimum wage job.
This country needs obesity fines
im guessing at your job youre compensated wage wise greater then lesser employees, you should receive the same benefits.

Minimum wage should be $1,000,000 per year.
i dont disagree that some jobs are more important then others, are they "bad jobs" not quite considering take out pizza is a billion dollar industry. in the heart of it, people are people, they deserve to be treated fairly, should someone with a degree and drive to succeed be paid monetarily as much as someone who didnt strive for and work as hard, no but that doesnt mean they should be denied basic requirements of full employment, including heath insurance, im not so vain as to think lesser people dont deserve rights, im not advocating giving them ferarri's and huge homes, they wont achieve that but fair prices on antibiotics and hospitals is OK in my book.
I can articulate my thoughts better than Mr.Stache.
The Papa John's guy may be doing it as a political statement, but several other companies are looking at hiring freezes and cuts in hours as well (Applebee's, Hardee's, Denny's, etc.). He's not the only one.
I'm curious as to what makes health care a "right" for anyone?
youre just ignorant man, you make no credible argument so you resort back to some childish suggestion that no one is trending towards. grow up.howd that alabama loss taste?

They all have the right to pursue health care. Nobody's preventing that.
"Fair prices"...what is fair and who decides that? Is it fair that I never have to go to the hospital, but I have to pay rising premiums because tons of other people are making hundreds of claims that raise health care prices? I don't think that's very fair.
Actually it is changing right now
Also Planet Earth does not equal America
Plenty of countries are destroying us on quality of life indexes and access to healthcare is a clear contributor to quality of life.
The key argument here is whether my quality of life is more important than a full time employee at Papa Johns. To which I say I want the quality of life of America to be at the top. I would love to see our Gini coefficient to be closer to other developed countries. Not close to Chinas
