I don't agree at all but at this point it's neither here nor there.
No. I believe in this country and where we are going.
What's happening now is that employers refuse to pay their employees health care.
Read the Forbes study on Papa Johns. It's affordable. The CEO is more concerned about making a polotical statement than caring for his employees.
you arent wrong, thats a valid issue, my point is that, i dont value myself as my job, im glad to make the money i do, im by no means well off, i worked hard in school to be where i am. i dont even champion 100% employer provided insurance, i think we should all pay in but i dont think its fair to say "well theyre just pizza makers" or " a delivery boy" i know a few people who purchase their own and it currently isnt cheap, because these people put in the hours they do, i believe the employer should have their back, even if its a 50/50 split. to simply reduce hours or totally layoff is wrong.to expect someone to get a basic, say, 120$ a month plan when making maybe 800$ a month isnt fair.
you believe that even your health benefits should be better, even though id imagine your actual take home pay exceeds other employees?
im okay with boycotting all those places.
youre a good person. you should be proud.
I completely agree
But requiring a pizza joint to pay for its workers healthcare is reasonable? How do you think fast food is so cheap? Profit margins in the food industry are razor thin, healthcare to all employees would do a serious number on those margins. You should reconsider who the ignorant one is.
Read the Forbes article and then get back to me about those margins
Although I assume you will quit readying midway through
I went to Michaels's (a chain craft store) with my wife last weekend. She was looking for craft supplies, I was checking the back of the products for where they were produced. The only American made products I found was some moss and some angry birds ribbons. There was some rope made in Madagascar, something made in Taiwan and everything else I remember was from China. Made me want to puke.
Absolutely! Ughhh, I hate it when people choose to have crappy jobs. Why aren't you out there making 50 an hour with your high school education. Profiting off of human suffering is the way to go, and if you don't believe that then you're nothing but a bleeding heart liberal!
man "pizza joints" make a lot more money then youre aware of, alot........
Papa Johns is not a "Pizza Joint"
not to kick off an entirely sperate argument but manufacturing jobs started disappearing under a certain president who made it tax friendly to send them overseas. it makes me sick as well and i buy local every chance its feasibly possible.
This thread is absolute Gold!
I've seen alot of 'political' threads in my time on TBB, but never have I seen such ignorance or contempt for the most fundamental principles of free market capitalism in one place.
I have rarely witnessed anything more unintentionally hilarious than a bunch of uninformed college kids earnestly opining on something they know absolutely nothing about: real world operation of a business.
Good luck securing investors/capital for your business enterprise premised upon internalizing taxes and other cost increases.
Kudo's to the OP for drawing out all of the children who have absolutely no clue what it means to be the CEO of a business.
Multiply "Bobby the pizza boy" by 10,000 then go ahead and remove him. Without "Bobby", Papa has no business.
if you scroll up, i was quoting it to mock his calling papa johns, a huge chain that makes millions, a "pizza joint"
There weren't labor laws in the 20's either.
No, that's how things were done here in America. The majority of the 'civilized" world sees the intrinsic value in it's citizens.
Thankfully, in our country, that's now changed.

DV from some fag whose delicate sensibliites were offended by my prior post.
Save yourself a lifetime of aggravation in the real world, and just get "Born To Lose" tattoo'd on your sloping simian forehead now, and report to the nearest encampment under local Interstate overpass.
Raise costs. It's that easy.
Of course the racist agrees.
Anybody arguing about "full time" employees proves you have no idea about how healthcare will be paid.
Lmao. They'll boycott American companies who pay American dollars but enjoy China products built by the sweat of 10 year olds. Oh the humanity.
