In order for this post to have any merit, how many employees? What industry?
Incorrect. They also have a duty to keep their stock prices high for their investors as well. Tanking your company and its equity to support the lowest people on the totem pole is bad business and will lead to an eventual going concern problem as you run out of equity. You are a fool and you don't understand accounting or economics. You are a liberal and you probably voted for Obama. lulz.
15. Web advertising and design.
10 years ago in 2002 you were in like 5th grade learning things like fractions and the difference between potential and kinetic energy. Perhaps you should leave politics to the adults...
What? When scientists say global warming has been happening for millions of years they're lying? Oh shit. Evolution.
Posts like this are why this country is going in the sh!tter. Nothing but people slinging insults at each other. What about act like adults, as you insinuated you are?
I was just saying a factual statement. I'm assuming 10 years ago this college student was in roughly 5th grade?
Am I wrong? Should be pretty close. 4th grade? 6th grade?
It's aight though. 10 years ago I was a college kid and probably would have been fooled by free education, healthcare, and lots o' jobs Obama. He's good at speaking to the inexperienced and uneducated.
I didn't get the details. My impression was that the talks he's been giving are what these companies will have to move to in the future, not what they're getting right now. More of a question and answer session for the employees and explaining to them why their deductible is increasing by a factor of ten.
I do think part of the reason is a large increase in claims. Which aren't exactly going to go down when more and more people get health insurance.
It's not about being right or wrong, it's about you being an asshole. It's about very one being assholes all the time. I mean good Lord, when did we all start to hate each other so much?
Let me ask you a simple question and I'd like an honest answer. Since you're fairly independent, an average employer pays around 6000.00 per employer In health insurance costs. My company pays roughly 60% of our health costs so 6k is about right. The government has made alaw saying that if they don't cover an employers health care cost they are subject to a 2000.00 penalty. If your a buisness and want to maximize profits, what's the company going to do? This isn't about the bill causing job growth problems. It's more about companies doing away with it all together and everyone eventually having no choice but to get on a governement plan. This bill isnt going to reduce costs. Thats absurd. This is Obama's and liberal hopes. One step closer to their ultimate goal.
Well I'll be honest, if I was the owner, I'd be providing as much health coverage as I could. But that's just my ideology when it comes to it. And in doing so, I would avoid the penalty, no?
They being the companies?
When people voted in Obama that contributed so little to the tax base. It is quite funny to see liberal politics play out though. It's so simplistic.
Derp, we need more money! Uhhhh... tax the uh, rich. Yeah tax the rich! Derp. Except the rich don't contribute that much in taxes. In fact, people that are at the bottom end of the socioeconomic latter pay a much, much higher percentage of their purchasing power on taxes. Why you ask? Well, there are different types of taxes and these morons tend to spend the highest portion of their money on things like McDonald's (prices rising, say goodbye to the $1 menu), cell phones, unnecessary luxuries like jewelry, and the list goes on.
By increasing taxes on those that hold the investment power to drive business growth, you stall out the economy. By doing what seems very logical to the uneducated (taking money from those with lots of it), you end up hurting the very people that need it. Instead of charity donations, taxes on realized gains, and cutting a smaller percentage of a larger clip, you have democrats that want to tax a larger percentage of a smaller clip. The investors will simply protect their wealth. Ruh, roh.
Human nature, brah.
It's literally happening right before our eyes. Do you choose to not accept it?
I didn't ask what your morals on it were. Which are commendable btw. Strictly from a buisness standpoint, you know what you'd do. We can debate what moral responsibility CEO's have to their employers all day. That doesn't matter. I don't think an employer has any moral responsibility other than a safe workplace and that's realistically how most buisness owners approach it. It's buisness. It's not personal. I have zero doubt that in 10 years we'll have full fledge national healthcare.

Yeah, but how good does the economy need to be anyway? We have to much stuff in America, and we are racist. If everybody would just do with less poor people could have healthcare...because that is what's important. Our entire government exist simply to support the precious poor.
The rich won't, they'll still be able to have top of the line healthcare. The rest of the middle class and poor will be waiting in line like Europe. It will eventually work when the sickest start dying off though. It will start to suck when your loved ones have serious illness and won't receive the medical care they need.
This is the response I would expect response from someone not intelligent enough to understand these sorts of things.
What tax credits are you talking about?
Yeah, that's an entirely separate argument when you get into the various types of tax credits available and in what state the business is located. Not to mention the regulations involved and how each small business in each industry can qualify. Yikes.
The sad part is you think I don't believe in global warming because I'm a conservative and think Obamacare is terrible. You probably also think I'm a bible thumping Christian because that's what Bill Meyer told you to think. I'm neither but that won't stop idiots like you from labeling.
"Deductible is increasing to a factor of ten". NONSENSE. If your friend is a broker, I can understand his concerns. He will have one less thing to sell - Health Insurance. It makes total sense that he would be against a law that takes away his livelihood. He will also be the first to tell you that it wasn't that profitable to begin with.
I doubt he would advise these same clients who buy other products from him with exaggerations.
Ok, buddy. Clearly my intelligence is the only reason you're not willing to provide support for your assertions. It has absolutely nothing to do with you being unable to actually provide an explanation for the sound-bytes you try to pass off as reasoned political stances.
I'm sure you read the whole 2,000 page ACA bill our congress couldn't even read before they passed it. Fact is they had to pass it while they had the house & senate. This is something that should be bipartisan & time should be taken on it. This was slammed down our throat. Like nancy pelosi said "let's pass it to see what's in it". Makes me puke they pass a bill THEY haven't even read.
I was just being sarcastic in response to your sarcasm about people being unable to comprehend Obamacare. And even if you were a bible thumper you could still make a compelling case against Obamacare. Just because someone isn't familiar with a topic (or you don't agree with them) doesn't mean they have zero knowledge on all political topics.
