What about a little old lady who has nothin to do but build her familys reputation by spewing bs? Freeh had nothing to gain....
Haha...so you just wanna throw that out the window. Go figure
According to the ex FBI agent, Freeh could have been "spewing bs" the entire time

Its funny cause I really dont care one way or the other.. just the naive thinking and rhetoric sucked me in..... damn you guys! We will see tomorrow but ima have to report back after we thump IU...
Yeah, but Freeh's investigation cannot be questioned... I mean, the only reason he was forced to resign was because Janet Reno didn't like him... it's not like he was incompetent or anything...
PSU paid him to get blood and keep the Board of Trustees out of it. He did what he was paid for. Condemning everyone involved helped his perception. That's exactly what people wanted to hear.
Before this came out, the vast majority thought it would validate their feelings that PSU instituted a major coverup. It did that. Had it not, people would have called it a farce and say "PSU paid for it, how could it be fair." I know this because people said as much before it came out. Public perception of him would have plummeted if he didn't get blood, so he made sure to get it.
Bob costas is a PSU fan? Who knew?

I guess, we can argue this all night. so its pointless. He had nothing to gain... im sure hes towed thw line or crossed it b4. He had no reason to do it. Joe on the other hand had EVERYTHING to lose... had he made a call this is all relative. Go Sue go... save your cherished families name..
Exactly it. If it said "PSU did nothing wrong!", the public would dismiss it as rubbish. They would demand answers from the BOT. Do people really think that the BOT wanted that?
Pinning it on the dead guy and the people who were fired was so much easier. Take the lumps and move on *quickly*.
It really doesn't matter whether Freeh had some sort of vendetta against Paterno/PSU/whoever. The fact is that the evidence Freeh presents does not lead to his conclusions. Anyone with half a brain and logic skills who reads the full report can see that.
I think the reason people argue about his motives is because most people here did not read the full report. They want to be able to claim you can just take his word for it, but that's not how it goes.
Just something to throw in there, but I'm amused that someone believes Freeh going through "thousands and thousands" of emails actually helps support Freeh's conclusions. If he went through all the emails and only came up with a couple vague references, and somehow gleans intent from those couple things (without even talking to the people involved), you'd think that would be a huge, blaring warning sign to anyone supporting Freeh.
3.5 million documents*
And when the reporter asked Joe how would have handled it differently if it were his own grandchildren...... that was that.
He read them all bro. His word is golden.
Hey, he used to be a judge!!
.... Right because an employee telling you that a former employee did something that made him uncomfortable is the same thing as your grandkid crying rape.
Good news Jopa isnt around to enable any longer...
But Urbs is still there to let pedos hang out with recruits. Enabler, IMO.
The OTL segment was terrible. Nothing of substance in it. Time to read the report and see if there is anything there. Not feeling too confident that there will be.
Don't you think if there was even a teeny tiny fraction of something they would have said it right then? I watched every second.
The paterno attorney had the most shifty eyes... It was creepy... He seemed angry and too connected. The Governer really said nothing. The 3rd guy was the best on camera (don't remember his name...guy in the middle)
He was the most compelling but all he did was talk about the same tired arguments you all have been spewing for the last year.
Nothing to see here... Move along.

I have 5 hours of driving to do today, lemme know if its worth my time.
Just an FYI, the report is mostly just expert opinion (from a former Attorney General, a former FBI profiler and child molestation and behavioral expert, and a psychologist from Johns Hopkins) about why the Freeh reports hard conclusions are inappropriate.
I'm only like 30 pages into it, just giving people a sense of what the report is. It is not something that has presented much new factual evidence at this point, only information about how the experts reviewed all the evidence of the report and had conversations with Paterno and the lawyers involved in these criminal cases, and determined that Freeh's conclusions were incorrect and irresponsible.
I haven't read it and could have told you that.
Couple major bluffs by the OTL group
Question for Wick Sollers: "why did Erickson agree with the NCAA and sign off on the sanctions based on the Freeh report?" Answer: choked on his own spit.
Question - "the importance of Mike McQuery's testimony"
Answer: "he gave everyone a watered down version then detail in court. Joe said If he received this detail he would have called the cops on Sandusky"
Question: "do you think the public will view this paterno family independent report as unbiased?" Answer from Former PA Gov Dick Thornburg: "oh there is no bias"
- Gov Dick Thornburg - close friend of Joe Paterno who is a season ticket holder, accepted party funds from Joe Paterno, has investment ties to members on the BOT.
- Gov Tom Corbett - season ticket holder, friend of the Paterno Family, accepted party funds from the Paterno Family and the Second Mile Organization.
Wick Sollers (attorney) - originally contracted by the Paterno family to investigate and defend against the onslaught of civil suits filed by the victims for millions against Paterno personally and Penn State. Vested interest to reduce financial burden of the civil suits.
This was a bad move on the Paterno Families part as they will have to face scrutiny when Spanier, Curley and Shultz will acknowledge Joe's knowledge fighting or their lives in court shorty.
