Marshall wanted Arkansas to do the right thing and fire Petrino when he had his foot in AU's rear. Now the Auburn Creed allows Petrino to be forgiven?
In unusual times, making the right decision on Auburns next head coach is more important than ever.
Either this website doesn't exist or is not currently available.
What is your point? bammer has probably had more drunks, liars, and womanizers as coaches than any other school in the entire country, yet you still criticize other schools for doing the same

More like laughing at the stupidity of bammers as usual. Petrino might or might not get hired, but a bammer accusing anybody else of being a hypocrite is the ultimate lulz. I assume that is what the original poster is trying to do.
Arkansas had to fire Petrino and Marshall was right in saying so. They would have faced numerous lawsuits if they would have kept him and it probably would have cost them more in the long run.
Auburn doesn't have that issue with Petrino. If they hire him, they just have to hope he doesn't screw up like that again. It doesn't come down to a legal issue in their case.
Petrino didn't kill anyone, he just broke the state law and school policy in a hiring process. Auburn or Arkansas are in no position, nor should they, to play St. Peter and the gates to Heaven. The issue is the law and Petrino has broken none at Auburn, so other than some public relations issues that some folks will have to deal with, there shouldn't be an issue in hiring him, unless the school doesn't want to deal with those issues.
Honestly, the positives out weigh the negatives, IMO, if that is who Auburn feels is the best possible candidate.
The difference is that Alabama has never claimed moral superiority. We know that we aren't Lilly white but never claim to be.
On the other hand AU constantly tells everyone that will listen that they do things the right way and that their fanbase is the greatest Christian coalition to gather under one banner since the crusades.
I have no problem with AU hiring Petrino. Im the person that was attacked by multiple AU fans and you earlier this year when I started a thread stating Petrino was a better coach and RECRUITER than Chizik. You guys let me have it in that thread. " Chizik has a National Championship ring" etc... I wish I could find that thread today....
The bottom line is that Marshall put his foot in his mouth 7 months ago. Now after witnessing a 49-0 beat down, Petrino is a good man worthy of a second chance..Get real

Are you kidding me? Nobody is more self righteous than bammer message board posters. When they go on probation or have a player arrested by the police, bammers still try to convince themselves that they have never done anything wrong and they are just being picked on by those agencies. You also cannot find another fan base who pats themselves on the back for being classy more than bammers. Anybody who disputes these things or doesnt drink the bammer kool-aid will be instantly banned from every single bammer message board on the internet
Youre arguing stuff that has nothing to do with this thread. We are talking about the amazing transformation of Phill Marshall on the Petrino issue.
False and you continue to be less than intelligent in your remarks and deflection attempts. Please continue along this moronic path. It brings me great pleasure seeing you whine.
He is doing the aub way. Deflect, deflect, deflect
I couldnt care less who he is criticizing. A bammer criticizing anybody over this issue is beyond laughbale, because nobody has one set of standards for themselves and a different set of standards for everybody else more than bammers own fan base
So you admit that Marshall, as a mouthpiece for Barner spin, "has one set of standards for themselves and a different set of standards for everybody else" ?
You be nice aubie25. Goodness gracious that set you off! Heh heh did you go to church Sunday? Listen, everyone has a skeleton or 10 in their trunk. It's ok my friend
I am just constantly amazed that bammers are dumb enough to bring their stupidity over here just because the idiots on Buttheads Online likely approved of it. This thread should have been kept on your own home board for many reasons, including the fact that nobody knows or cares who Phillip Marshall is outside of the Auburn and bammer fan base
bammer...bammer...rentatrent....blah blah blah...
Your talking but no one cares. Go watch replays of beating Alabama A&M....dont forget your high chair, midget
Are u 12?
The point is that Bama fans don't force feed that Family and God crap that AU does
bammer: the only fan base in the world dumb enough to constantly start flame or troll threads about Auburn and then claim I am the one who is obsessed with them because they dont like my responses lol
I'm an Alabama fan, not an Auburn fan BTW.
Phillip Marshall is a hypocrit. This isn't news. He's also the greatest writer on this entire site. His17 articles after each game that illustrate each of his 17 different emotions during said game is the most amazing read I've ever seen. It's ausome.
I don't even see why this is worth a thread... He's a reporter of course he's gonna double guess himself but he has always said that he liked petrino and thought he was a good coach. But my whole thing is this, why do y'all seem to care so much? Just because he is an AU writer? I don't even know the name of a single bama writer idk I guess it just matters more to some people. Meh.
Why So Serious?
WTF an actual thought out post. Shame on you.
Under our current NCAA investigation, did you know that Nevin Shapiro bought a bunch of suits for two of our assistant coaches at a Tuscaloosa clothing store? Then Trent and Julio came and picked them up in Land Rovers and sold them for 8 million dollars, which they used to buy drugs from Jimmy Johns. They were about to get cuffed and stuffed, but SaBear swooped in on his shetland pony (he's not big enough to ride anything else) and made the mayor and cops kiss his dick, but not before he rode his pony all over the gulf coast relocatin' kids, changin' grades and processing other proud programs' head coaches.
Z'at about cover it?
