I can't answer that, but I'm a full believer that everyone is created in the image of God
Still mad! I love it!
You gotta learn to lighten up, brah, it's just a message board.
I agree but no matter how much sense you try and preach, Jeff's mind is made up on this issue. It doesn't make him a bad person, just a naive one.
My uncle said that he was close to committing suicide when he was in high school. Not because he was ridiculed (He didn't come out of the closet until he was in his mid 20's) but because he genuinely wanted to be straight and was so internally tormented at the fact that he knew that there was nothing that he could do to change the fact that he was gay. He literally said that he prayed to God for YEARS every night asking him to make him straight.
If that doesn't tell you that it's not a "choice" then I don't know what will convince someone.
I have friends that got married and had kids so that no one would know that they were gay....every day they tried to be straight. It is so sad that there is this much pressure on gay men to conform that they go to these extremes.
This is what I was trying to impress upon people in an earlier thread today. If you've witnessed the pain and suffering gay (and lesbian and bi and trans, etc.) people go through when, no matter what they do, they can't change who they are, then you know that it's not a choice. One of my friends actually did commit suicide after constant harassment and abuse for his being gay. If anyone seriously thinks my friend wouldn't have rather been able to choose to be straight and avoid all the torture, they're sick in the head.
I'm done with these threads...
