Mitigated by Salary Cap Space [due to Rookie Wage Scale]. See my previous post about signing Free Agents to Incentive Laden Contracts to replace draft picks given up.
Look at the Free Agents currently on the Market......Some good players available to be signed to incentive laden contracts. Depending on Signing Bonus [which is prorated over the length of the contract and a portion can be recouped for Salary Cap purposes if player is cut before contract expires] and Contract Terms......these contracts could occupy very little Salary Cap Space.
That's one of the biggest things people are forgetting. Granted the Skins gave up future first round picks, but this affects them in FA now. They didn't splurge in FA last year, as they have in the past, which sets them up with a nice 40 mil+ to spend on proven players. We saw what Cam did for Smith in Car last year, I'd assume that pitch with RGIII would be an easier selling point vs Grossman/Beck.
has to be easier and you know Snyder has the money to spend on some great players
Not 40 million anymore.
Plus those "proven" players the Skins have signed in the past have worked out real good for them.
good lord they just signed a great WR to help with their #1 QB that they are picking
Who'd that be?
skins needs more then a quater back..
signed Garcon and somebody else i was told ...
Garcon, Josh Morgan, and Eddie Royal by my count.
Not a bad group there.
wow that is a great group to go with a new QB
