Matt Jones-soph, and even more unknowns behind him. Probably Kelvin Taylor.
Jones tore it up in the spring, but if Driskel regresses even a smidgen, it could be all for nothing.
I understand where you are coming from, but you have to understand we have had someone with little to no game reps come in and look great in a second string role nearly every year.
2008 - Ingram
2009 - Richardson
2011 - Lacy
2012 - Yeldon
I understand they are not proven, but outside of 2010 (no one would argue what we brought back in Ingram/Richardson that year) we have lauded someone unproven as being a stud and have been proven right each year.
Could someone explain FIFY to me please? I am at a loss here.
Fixed it for you
They edit your post with what they think the truth is and then type "FIFY"
Ahh, I see. Thank you very much sir!
All that is true. And I'm sure someone, probably a couple, will be studs.
I was just saying that UGA's tandem is talented, and imo 1a or 1b. Marshall, imo, won't be a 1st team All Sec Rb, but he is the perfect sidekick to what Gurley brings, for their offense.
A Fowler and Yeldon duo, would be a better tandem, than that though. Especially for what Bama does on offense. Honestly, I didn't know Fowler was as far ahead in his recovery.
I haven't even stated anything about the two backfields. Yeldon and Gurley are both beasts and we don't have any proven top guys behind them. All I said was that in my opinion, Marshall isn't an NFL back and is overrated.
Fowler is still mostly a situational guy, though. I'd expect one of the three freshman everydown types (Henry, Tenpenny, and Jones) and Drake to get more base-set carries than he does this year TBH. Fowler is a great option as a hybrid HB and a load in short yardage.
No, I understand where you are coming from on them being unproven. I was just trying to point out where the UA fans were coming from in assuming they had a stud in the wings because that has been the norm over the last 5 years. It's like I used to be with USC's QBs, eventually I just gave in and assumed the next guy was going to be a stud too haha.
Right now based on what they have done in college it goes
Marshall is really just a scat back, but his production is better than Drake's and Fowler's right now. Granted if Fowler is healthy and Drake's added weight/muscle make the difference, it'll be flipped. But in the preseason, when it doesn't really matter, its UGA #1 and Bama #2 for RB corps.
Again, we aren't talking about the first two, in Alabama's case, because that's not the way it usually works. If we are talking about the first two, I'd give UGA a slight advantage, but Alabama is much more loaded and with guys who will actually play.
Doesn't matter, either way. We are talking about how Alabama's season will go and UGA isn't on the schedule IIRC.
At least as of now. If they can get through the gauntlet again they will have another chance at a moral victory
Really hard to believe that it took a rash of major injuries to get Cooper on the field for some .
Makes you wonder how many other future all pros are currently buried on the depth chart. Smh
Agreed. Which brings us back to the tailbacks. I mean, damn.
Yeldon>>>>>> Gayle Sayers
Ben Howell = Brian Piccolo IYO?
Kansas Comet>>>>>Ben Howell imho
