Here's my list of reasons schools don't get kids so far:
Miami - because someone is paying them(ironic I know)
UGA - because we won't pay them
Clemson - They must be the devil
FSU - didn't have a comitable offer
UF - The staff backed off of them months ago
Texas - we only take 3 stars
USCw - Mom won't sign LOI

No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Bama- They don't like winning

on that note
Auburn - they like winning
AU- THE REC planted an operative to convince this player to sign with Bama. Or in some cases, planted an operative to make sure he didn't sign with AU even though Bama didn't want him.
Michigan - no Southern "hostesses."
FSU and Miami- they wanna play in the SEC
Ole Miss- we didn't offer enough money
Arkansas - nobody wants to play for Houston Nutt!
Arkansas - nobody wants to play for Bobby Petrino!
Arkansas - nobody wants to play for JLS!
BornToBeRed said: WPS, just a head's up. We might be the most family-friendly board on the network, so take it easy on your normal wps-ness.
Alabama- Saban has players higher on his board. Or, we didn't get our REC operative in there in time.
Well ya, we have a lot though like:
This is also a favorite on BOL. Another common one is " kid is afraid of competition".
Ahh I forgot about the competition excuse
ND- I guess the kid wants to work at burger king after playing football.
Ohio State: Because we couldn't oversign like you.
Michigan: coaches cooled on him, couldn't cut the academics, not a Michigan man, afraid of all our depth, etc.
OSU= scared of competition

This reminds me of that article posted a couple of months ago regarding SC's decommits.
My favorite excuse was Ramsey. "I don't want a chance to play early for a national power," said no recruit ever. Until now.
Coaches cooled on him
Mom wouldn't let him move so far away
Negative recruiting by the other staff

Exactly my point. The girls Drake has his arms around are 6-7s, but if he was at any SEC school, they'd be 9s at worst.
you nailed Clemson.
What do USCe fans say?
When they choose somebody other than OSU, it was because their offer wasn't committable
When they choose somebody other than UM it's because the coaches cooled on the kid
Was trying to think of one but it kind of depends on the location and school. There isn't really a set excuse.
The closest to a universal excuse tends to involve Spurrier not doing much recruiting. If Clemson gets a guy, most say they paid them, but Clemson only gets coveted out of state guys with familial ties to Brad Scott.
