not happy if we give more than 1 ist rounder. if we give a 1st and 2nd we lose on this deal

Los told me it was a 1st this year & a 3rd/5th next year. Meh.
Waste IMO. "Lockdown" corners are overrated IMO.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
I just think we are still 2+ years away from rebuilding a SB contending team. We won't compete for titles with Freeman IMO.
The 13th pick and paying elite corner money to run a zone scheme? Stupid IMO. Not saying Revis isn't good but this would be like overpaying for an elite 4-3 end and moving him to OLB (COUGH) buffalo.....
That still doesn't make Josh Freeman not suck.
Schiano got fleeced. Dude is coming of a major knee injury and wants to be paid as the top NFL player in the league... not corner, PLAYER. Have fun with that.
Bucs could've taken the 2 picks they're gonna lose to the Jets to move up and take Milliner, saving 10m in cap room in the process.
yeah, because all of Bama's stud players have been Pro Bowlers in the NFL.

Great deal for the Bucs. They had plenty of cap space and only gave up a 1st this year and a 4th in 2014. Plus you couldnt ask for anything better with a year to year deal.
It became clear two weeks ago that, if/when (when) the Jets trade cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Buccaneers, the Jets will receive Tampa Bays not a whole lot.
It's terrible. Revis is damaged goods.
So was Adrian Peterson? No guaranteed money, solid mover for the Bucs. Is it a gamble? Sure it is, but one that will most likely pan out.
The Vikes didn't trade for Peterson, that's the difference. They didn't give anything up to keep him. If the Bucs would have gotten Revis for nothing, it certainly would be worth it. But a 1st and a 3rd/5th is terrible, especially when you know that he will be a pain in the ass to sign again after this season. You almost want him to just be average so that he doesn't cost you a ton of money to keep him on. What good is that with those picks they gave up?
It's a dumb move... he probably could have been had for a 2nd if the Bucs wouldn't have been stupid.
did you not read his contract details?
he gets NO GUARANTEED MONEY and a 16 million dollar a year deal that is year to year. theres literally nothing to bitch about since hes getting QB money. the Bucs can also drop him with no penalty if he doesnt play well or they get into cap trouble. seems fair for both sides. I was really skeptical about this deal but love it now,.
the Jets got their asses handed to them in this deal if Revis comes back anywhere close to his old form
Who cares about money? It's about the draft picks. The Bucs aren't at the point where one player will take them over the top.
the 3rd will be next year. He is on a six year deal that is renewed by the Bucs on a year to year basis. You tell me who they would have gotten at 13 that would do better than Revis. Once again EVERYWHERE I have read said this is a good deal for the Bucs.
we gave up 1 draft pick this year for Revis. it would have been a corner so its a wash
getting Revis completely changes who we take in the draft. i had to completely redo my mock. earlier. i had us taking 3 corners and dropped it to just 1 since we have revis. thats 2 other slots that can be used on different positions. getting revis and goldson really opened up a lot of draft possibilities for the bucs because we filled needs in FA
You got a guy who is a huge question mark. If he is only average, he isn't worth the 1st and the 3rd. If he is really good, he's going to sit out and demand that part of his contract is guaranteed. It's not hard to figure out. Deal sucks.
If Revis wanted 6 years for $96M, good move for the Jets to get rid of him. Hell, both of their first round picks, plus their first next year, probably won't cost that much money.
guy is a beast but yeah that seems awfully expensive to me as well
