What's wrong with what I said?
Kids expect coaches to play their games, if every coach set this precedent you wouldn't have kids acting nearly as entitled or gay.
The spectacle they put on is the exact opposite thing you want as a coach.
So you take my opinion and denounce it and then re-submit your opinion as the actual factual prediction. Interesting debate style. Not sure I can contend here.
Sorry that did come off wrong. I guess I'm asking you to explain why it would happen (besides being located in Miami).
kid wanted to annouce on NSD... I'm sure the Miami staff has known that for months now... So why would they just now pull the offer??
not sure how kirkland was playing games here
Keeps saying it hoping its true, still haven't seen anybody else say it though
Well except that " one " HS coach Lamont Green who totally sucks, and coaches the worst team in south florida area
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Nothing wrong with what you said, he's just an idiot. Kirkland knew his scolly offer had a deadline, when the deadline came he didn't want to commit so he lost his scolly. I guess it's wrong to be a man of your word in recruiting. .
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Because you don't have a clue. If the kid really wanted to go to Miami he could have gave his commitment and then announced it on NSD. Kirkland and his family knew this, no games. Ice didn't so he was butthurt.
No other explanation is needed. You just don't understand the dynamic according to my opinion. High school football in Miami is the mecca of HS football. The players that come out of there are tough, mean, confident, driven, they understand process and know only hard work yields results, and on top of all that there are at least 5 usually as many as ten from just Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties who are five star level athletes.
And they are hundreds of miles from the nearest meaningful program other than Miami and most are raised by single mothers who want them to stay home and get a private school education at the U. It is only through ACTIVE self-sabotage that Miami ever quits being a top 5 programs in America.
He could have given Golden his word and still announced on NSD. But come on, that's still sad.
Also tough break couldn't announce on signing day, a lot worse things are going to happen in life. Might as well get used to it, instead of coddled like every kid in my generation.
The fact these announcements, fake-outs, "shock the world" tweets are considered acceptable, and common place is pathetic.
miami's automated response
Its more the media than the kids, I hope you understand that
If ESPN is pushing you to act a certain way then most kids will buy in, and all these sites don't help either
Gotta love how they all do predictions but all pick different schools for the most part, even though they all have the same information handy... funny how that works
Its proof they just guess like the rest of us or that they have a clear agenda to sell hype so their websites get as many hits as possible
Recruiting has become a business that grows larger every year
Your argument does sound pretty good. I'm not from the area so I can't really dispute your idea effectively. I'm still inclined to believe they never win another one, because I think the type of kid you describe needs exactly the right kind of coach in there to make it happen. They also need to stay out of trouble. It seems like too much that would need to fall perfectly in place at once. That being said, your argument does seem solid.
i agree with you that recruiting has become pathetic, but thats another subject for another day
miami screwed this up, not the 18 y/o kid
No response? Im sure Grace will be this year's Earl Moore. Canes will claim we offered because he had a verbal over two years ago and then he'll play as a Fr because the team and program sucks beyond belief and when he gets 5 tackles in one game they will say he's beast mode and put him in their sigs like the other mighty mice LBs.
Bryant and Coley are FSU locks.
I understand ESPN is doing that and sites are doing that. The more hype they can get, the more eyeballs.
They pitched "the decision" to Lebron as well.
At the end of the day these ceremonies are incredibly self serving and selfish. The kids have no interests but their own on their minds when concocting these decisions and ceremonies.
I'm not liking the Bryant to Miami smoke, hope its just smoke with no fire.
Lolz at your new commit, very sad
at least you beat out Old Dominion
Miami is at a Decade of irrelevance. Every year that passes they leave the collective thoughts of HS kids as a national program.
Thread where all the Miami fans say Bryant is ALL FSU.
Also Coley has a bigger chance of going to USF than Miami. A late push on a guy that has shown Zilch in the interest area is not a silent commit like you guys believe. He visited you guys in December and took notice of the piss poor facilities and lack of post season games.
Oh snap, errybody jumping on the camels back now
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
No Coley or Bryant, but you can take Bryant
