Dude is heading up to the Indian River Lagoon in Central Florida which is 80 minutes SW Orlando. It's considered the best redfish spot in the world. It's pristine, untouched, and cannot be disturbed by industrialize standards. Most are all done by push poles. . So that meas the deep waster channels are only about 7 feet deep. It's looks the same as it did the very first day Ponce De Leon found it while looking for the fountain of youth. OK, expect for the HUUUUUHE Kennedy Space Station way off to the South. It's so big, clouds form inside.
I lived just North East of there for 3 years and fished it all the time. Calling it amazing does not do it justice. ANYTHING can be in there because they don't restrict anything. Whales have even been spotted back in this marsh.
Off the top pf my head I;m going to say some type of ray. Hitting thr guy driving the boat white it jumps, knocking him out, and drowning. It's actually a serious problem in South Florida and not AS MUCH here but tht would be my guess. If it's another species of Grouper, I'm pissed. Save your DVR's anyway. Anyway, my IRL pics (2005 or 2006)):
Did somebody say Monstars?
Have fished there and mosquito lagoon my whole life. Nothing like catching a 40 pound redfish in a foot of water. Whale tail at the extreme south end of mosquito lagoon is a favorite spot of mine. Just south of whale tail is good too just watch out for 10+ foot gators. They make wade fishing there an extreme sport!
That looks awesome, can you duck hunt there??
It's a federal reserve so I doubt it.
I would love to go there and catch some reds. Speckle trout are on fire in south louisiana right now
We've had 100's of 30 pound plus Reds charge our boat in 3 foot of water only to go under grabbing each anglers GULP shrimp. Hard to keep from jerkin but it's a great sight.
Indian River is awesome.. Used to go there in HS when I lived in Brandon.
Best fishing in that area is the banana river (no motor zone). We used to put a trolling motor on the back of a gahnoo. Use it to get us to the line, then put on shore in the bushes some where, and paddle back in there. About a mile in a half back on the left hand side is a big satellite dish. A few hundred feet past is a trench that goes from 3 ft. to 5ft. and back up to 3ft. Have fished that trench on a day where i pulled a snook, red, trout, tarpon, and a 4 pound goliath grouper out of there. Can't beat it!
