Im still laughing at Arizona in the top 10
They deserve to be there at this point in time. You could argue against ASU, but they destroyed Northern Arizona, and NA went on the road the following week to beat UNLV (UNLV is terrible though), and then destroyed Illinois. They are blowing people out. Nice test for them this coming week going on the road to Missouri.
ULM went on the road and beat Arkansas, that is a better win than most teams have at this point in time, and makes them deserving of a ranking. Subjectively I do not in any way feel that they are one of the best 25 teams, but objectively they deserve to be ranked at the moment.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
so how can you "blame" them 6for Murray State as you said... FSU had 3/4 diffIcult OOC games now w have 2/4

Walking up these hills you have no choice but to be fast!
By blaming them, I mean they did schedule a 1AA opponent. Many teams not named USC do that. I am simply ranking FSU on what they have done to date. They blew out 2 teams who are really, really bad. That does not show us anything. Now with Wake Forest, who are coming off of a win over North Carolina, next week they are finally playing a team with a pulse. I will watch.
we are better than UCLA too. Rex Burkhead didn't play so that loss doesn't count. 2-0!
and fsu usually only schedules 1...and they only do that 1 because they need 7 home games and it cost more than fsu has to pay another d1 school to come play at doak. .
Syracuse is a lil better than Vandy, and USC beat Syracuse in far more convincing fashion than south carolina beat Vandy. The reason I am saying that Syracuse is better than Vandy is the Northwestern game. Though Cuse had them at home, and Vandy played them on the road. It was just 1 dumb penalty/poor call that cost Cuse that game. If anything Cuse and Vandy are pretty equal.
Also if you read the OP, my poll is 60% objective, ie what has happened on the field, and 40% subjective, ie my own personal power poll, teams.
I really don't see how you can compare USC the way they beat Syracuse to the way South Carolina beat Vandy. No comparison at all. You lack objectivity.

amen. They beat the second best team in the nation.
South Carolina at 22? Dear God man.
I don't like to put too much emphasis on week 1, but since only 2 games have been played, I kind of have to at this point.
Yeah you're right. South Carolina didn't give up 29 to Syracuse.
No, they only scored 17 vs Vandy.
Just two different approaches.
What is worse a terrible offensive game or a terrible defensive game?
Also worth noting that we were playing a true road game with an injured QB.
South Carolina won by 4, while getting bailed out on the final drive by a non-call on an obvious PI.
USC won by 13, on a cross country road trip.
It's not Rocket surgery.
Spin it however you want, but you gave up 29 points to a terrible team in a non-hostile stadium.
Again, there was actually some reason why our offense did poorly. Why did your defense suck so much?
That team scored 41 the week prior vs Northwestern. Northwestern's Defense held Vandy to 13 points, the same amount given up by South Carolina. Not so terrible. Our defense did not play well, never said it did.
Defense wins championships. Thats probably why the Pac 12 has never won a BCSNC.
Teams win championships. And I still don't give a what anyone says, USC has won 2 legitimate championships in the bcs era.
Only one, which was stripped.
Nevertheless, what has So Cal done to deserve a number 3 ranking based on your criteria? A lackluster win against a marginal Big East team and a blowout of Hawaii? Several teams have done better than that.
Certainly other teams have better resume's to date, but as I have stated I do allow 40% of the poll is weighted by my own subjective ranking.
Had USC and Syracuse been played at the Coliseum, and the same result occured, I would have USC lower than 3 for sure. In that one trip, USC traveled more miles than the entire SEC has in their OOC games.
just got home, in no condition to put out a perfect top-25 right now. will have to do it tomorrow after I wake up.
