Do you guys really believe your conference is so almighty? Granted you guys have won 7 straight titles but several of them has asterisk by them due too the multiple illegal tactics by several of your teams.
Outside of Florida's 2 and maybe Alabama first one (but if McCoy doesn't go out maybe the outcome is different) there all tainted. Lsu lost one of its last two games and still made the championship because of media bias they only drop SEC teams 2-3 spots. And auburn had and ineligable player with Cameron newton plus he was suspended and nobody heard about it till he was reinstated because "he didn't know his daddy was selling him to the highest bidder".
And nick Saban admitted purposly voted Oklahoma state 14 to give his team a better chance to play in the championship despite not even winning his division let alone his conference. And if Ohio state is not banned your not even playing for a third one.
You guys also brag about your bowl game record but seem to be oblivious to the fact that there all practically home games and other teams are always at a disadvantage. Your out of conference record is a joke and you always schedule your weakest opponents right before your rival game.
That's a lot of excuses.
No excuses just facts.
Would suggest not showing your butt hurt so bad next time
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
Yes, 7 straight is a fact.
I never got the whole if Mccoy hadn't went out then things would have been different, I mean was I the only one watching that game? It wouldn't have been close regardless
The game was close actually. And with a back up qb I might add.
Kiss the rings
What people fail to notice is that Bama knocked him out of the game. It is not like he tweaked his ankle or something. They hit him so hard that he hurt his shoulder. Bama deserves credit for knocking him out of the game.
The game was close because Bama let it get close. Come on bro look at the QB they were facing. Bama was running a vanilla offense the whole game trying to run the clock down and Texas got close because of it.
Haven't read the replays dumb ass.
Saban voted okie st 4. Not 14.
Facts are important. Don't spread lies and false information.
OP fill this out.
Just put the teams from any conference head to head in a comparison to the 14 SEC schools and see how it comes out. Not talking one specific year because that is back and forth but overall state of the programs. The SEC is deeper than any conference and significantly deeper at the top in any given year. Some years the SEC is more down than others(last year and the year before aside from Bama and LSU) and some conferences are stronger some years than usual. However, on a consistent basis of comparison the SEC is stronger year to year than the other conferences and though not as huge a difference as the media portrays, the difference is significant.
Auburn(in some years)
Those 7 teams have consistently been the top of the SEC over the past 7 years and in most years at least 4-5 of the 7 have been strong in a particular year. What other conference can put 7 teams up against those 7 conssitently over the last 7 years? I can't even put 7 teams from any conference together that comes close to the consistency of those 7 programs over the last 7 years.
Then we go to the bottom half.
Kentucky-usually solid with some bad years and at least 2 years where they were pretty damn good. In '07 they could have beaten anybody ina 1 game situation if breaks fell their way.(see the LSU game. LSU was clearly the best team in the nation that year)
Vandy-always solid even though their record doesn't reflect it most years. They're on the rise in a big way(for them) now
Tennessee-traditional power that has gone through a horrible stretch lately but still a team that can give teams fits at times. They seem to be back on the rise
Missouri-look at what they did in the Big 12 and then what happened to them last year. That takes the Big 12 out of the argument immediately. They were the program most SEC fans thought would have success 1st of the 2 new members. Not sustainable success but earlier success. They still will put up at least a solid team in most years. What other conference can put a better 8-10th place team up against them?
Ole Miss-an up and down program. Some years they're horrible and in some they're good enough to beat almost anyone. On the rise a little now.
Miss St-another program that is solid most years. Never great but a couple of years ago they were a good team. What conference can put a better bottom half team up than them on a consistent basis?
TAM-on the rise in a big way and definitely trending towards consitently being in the top 6 of the conference yearly.
The SEC is not hugely better than every other conference but it's been shown that the very top of the conference is better than the top of every other conference(7 straight proves that) and it's really not close comparing the bottom halves of the other conferences to the botteom half of the SEC. The 4th-8th comparisons from each conference is where the other conferences close the gap. That's fine and all but does it matter? If the others can't compete at the top then they can't win titles and if they can't compete at the bottom can they be deeper? If being comparable in the middle is what other conferences want to hang their hat on the feel free. The SEC will just continue to hang our hat on National Championships and being the biggest, baddest conference in the land, on and off the field.
I'd personally like to thank Ohio state for bring a key contributor to the sec dominance.
Getting sodomized by Florida and lsu made the rest of the country realize that the big ten is a vastly over rated conference.
In sweater vests desire to win he cheated. In Ohio sts stupidity they took the penalty in 2012. Now had tosu been eligible this year they would have choked away all the close games. Congrats
Van Wilder is coming on the Comedy Channel right now. I recommend it.
Dude, I'm a huge buckeye fan but just cut the crap. SEC has earned the right as the best conference. We got smoked against Florida and beating pretty handily by LSU. We were good teams by they were obviously better. I think we certainly have been getting the players the last 2 or 3 recruiting years to get back to the top, but no need for the dumb troll post. Stop making excuses for the teams that lost the championship.
I can't answer that question without knowing specifics. Are we talking about molesting little kid tactics, lying to investigators tactics, making up fake majors tactics, or good old-fashioned boats and hoes tactics?
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
Wait, this guy is a Buckeye fan?
Awesome. So as a Buckeye, I know you would never try to ride the accomplishments of your conference or other teams. So specifically which SEC team are you talking crap to OP?
Just trying to figure out if you're trying to talk crap to the SEC teams you beat in the bowl games, or the ones that were on a postseason ban?
Please clarify, thank you in advance
I love the "if Colt McCoy hadn't got hurt" whenever i see it. Along the same lines, if Sam Bradford isn't injured during the UT/OK game earlier that year, Texas loses to OK and Bama never gets the chance to hurt McCoy in the national title because Bama would have been playing Cincinnati instead. And would have won by about 50 points.
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Your right and I didn't try to slight them I just said that it may have been different if he was in the game.
Maybe he is talking about getting free tattoos from drug dealers tactics?
Yes I am a buckeye fan but not once did I try to make this about The Ohio State University. And there is no butt hurt at all I'm just stating the obvious. You all glorify your conference and it is overrated honestly. There is Alabama and NOONE else! Nobody else has done anything yet you all claim dominance over college football world.
You have teams who sign 30+ players every year which is very illegal, you have teams who use grey-shirting every single year like its the right thing to do and you guys are like so what as long as we win.
No butt hurt at all here, I'm just stating the obvious. You all glorify Ohio State and it's overrated honestly.
It works the same both ways. I have still yet to have an Ohio State fan answer this question. If Bama is the only good team, then why can't your team, who you believe is good, beat any of us? It's not like you guys only lose in the national championship. You lose them all.
Also over signing is the gayest argument out there. My team is going to sign no more than 15 players this year, will you be mentioning that next year? Or will you conveniently leave that out of your Over signing discussion?
I thought Ohio State was full of scholars
The SEC is nothing without Florida, Bama, and LSU. Those are what's almighty.
