The fact that it took him four years to get voted in as easily a top five WR of all time was a joke.
No kidding, if it was up to bama fans his son would have been first ballot for sure
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
His son was and is a fvcking idiot.
Carter benefits from being on TV. In the 90's, there were 10-12 guys equal to or better than Carter.
He was good for a long time. He had a Fred Mcgriff career. Good but never the best. My hall of fame would only have te best, so carter and Mcgriff would only be welcome if they bought a ticket.
Happy days are here again!!!!
That might be the dumbest shit I have ever read on this site.
What? That I appreciate greatness? Cris Carter was the second best receiver on his own team. Never won anything. Made first team all-pro twice. Herman Moore was a three time first team all pro and owned the single season reception record for almost a decade.
I'm just not a big fan of letting guys into the hall of pretty good players.
He is easily one of the top five receivers of all time. He might not have been as talented as Randy Moss, but he produced. I mean he's top five in almost every receiving category. That was also during a time when running the ball ruled the roost for most teams.
Except that more passes were thrown in 1995 than any other season since.
Cris Carter always played in a pass happy offense. Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, warren f'ing moon, Dante culpepper, even brad Johnson threw tha ball around.
What a moronic argument against Carter here...he was never the best WR in the league? I guess there is only 1 wr from the late 80's until about 2001 that gets in then? He wasn't the number 1 on his own team? Who was the #1 wr on the Vikings all those years until Moss got there? Guess what, every other wr from 98 until Moss went to Oakland would have been the #2 guy on any team that Moss was on as well. Herman Moore? Lol you can't be serious....Moore was a very good player, but he isn't close to Carters level. I don't believe I have heard Moore I'm any hof discussions lately. The fact that it took Carter this long to make it is an embarrassment to both hof and its voters. When Carter retired he was #2 all time virtually every receiving category. He had probably the best hands and feet to ever play the position and is also probably the best red zone wr ever. Finally, when someone is trying to talk bad about someone and the best they can come up with is "All he does is catch touchdowns", you know you are talking about a hall of famer.
Please address how Herman Moore made more first team all pros than cris "the greatest hands and feet ever" carter?
Cris carter was very good for a long time. I'm not taking that away from him. Just doesn't make him a hall of famer in my book. I'm not saying Herman Moore should be either.
It's criminal to me that Tim Brown isn't. He was a more impactful receiver than carter.
Please define impacrful? Carter played 21 fewer games and had more catches, less yards, but 30 more tds. What more important stat is there than putting the ball in the end zone? I don't really see how you can say Brown was more impactful than Carter. Brown in a hall of famer as well, but there is no way he was a better wr than CC.
Not Tim browns fault he had to play with worse qbs. Cris carter benefitted from the system he played in and who he played with.
Tim brown was the premier deep ball receiver in the game for a long time.
As far as all pro teams, relying on that as any kind of argument is reaching at best. Those things have no real merit imo. They are often times just like pro bowls in that they are in many cases just reputation awards. It is no real secret that many, many media types disliked Carter because of things he did early in his career with Philly. That is also my guess why it took 4 years for the media to vote in a guy with a 1st ballot resume.
I dislike him for the same reasons, so it's hard to argue w me.
Man I hate cris carter.
so much short sighted fail crammed into such a small post
I'm listening on why the fvck you believe it took him 4 years to get into the HOF.
You aren't going to win this argument.
Cause he's an ass hat
I just won this argument
What does being a douchebag have to do with how well you play on the field. Lawrence Taylor was a crackhead, Michael Irvin was a cocaine freak, Brett Favre was a drunk that had physical issues with his wife early in his career, etc.
Dude has the stats to deserve to be in the HOF period. He might have been an asshole to the media while he was in Philly, but he wasn't a criminal.
Those guys were contrite
Carter remained a monumental ass hat
no shit! Bama thought he was going to be the savior..
So Michael Irvin never gets in? Tim Brown had much longer career than Carter.
Irvin was a star on great teams
Brown is just an old, bitter hag
You're a damn idiot.
Let's not forget how great Brown was as kickoff returner and punt returner before he blew out his knee. Brown would have had my vote before Carter.
Carter is a douche
Sorry to break it to you
