I noticed he was left handed. That can't be good.
You must have a degree in clinical psychology.
I'll just say this, I think Mich is recruiting to compete for Big 10 championships and Ohio State is recruiting to compete for National Championships. King of the Midwest vs. King of the Nation. I know you don't agree, don't need you to. I'm a patient man and time will tell.
Wouldn't a more compact release help Morris with his accuracy though? Also, Morris displays poor decision making when he is under pressure (like most QB's). His decision making when he's had time to throw has been far better.
I didnt notice any MSU commits in the game yesterday. That cant be good.
So you can win a national championship without a Big Ten championship, interesting.
I bet those past sweet sixteen berths will really help your team win games this year. Also, Aaron Craft is overrated.
This is the most biased post I've ever seen. " our unproven coach and a bunch of ragtag skill players are going to be much better than your proven coach and higher ranked skill players"
Anyway. Morris has all the tools yet as of right now I think Shane Morris = Steve Bellasari. Maybe you can coach him up to be a great qb, but right now he is just a very big and talented athlete that does not look like a natural qb out there.
We had them working with the first string offense at the Duffy yesterday. Even the defensive guys. We figured, what the hell, how much can it hurt?
I feel like we're moving away from my point though. No part of what I was saying is that Shane Morris isn't a good QB or that he can't be a great QB or that his issues aren't correctable. What I'm saying is that I haven't seen a top 25 player in the country in him as it stands and the issues he has aren't things that you say "Well, I'm sure that will just get better" cause often times they don't. Not saying they can't, just saying that Morris hasn't shown out as a top top tier prospect. Potential keeps getting tossed around and that all seems to center on arm strength. But particularly in college, I'd take accuracy, decision making, and an accurate deep ball over pure arm strength.
As long as Michigan keeps on getting recruiting classes ranked anywhere from 4-8 in the country I don't see how you can say that they aren't recruiting for a national championship.
It's nice of OSU fans to be concerned about everyone else's coaches and recruits.
1) You can certainly win a Big 10 title without winning or even compete for a National Title, ask unranked Wisconsin.
2) And while I get that you were trying to be cute, actually you can win a National Title without winning a BCS conference championship, ask Alabama from last year.
Not an impressive post
So you have attended his HS games and those of his competition? You have been to the camps and seen them perform each day? Sounds like you need to start your own recruiting service.
Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
I mean it's your opinion so it really can't be wrong would be my answer I guess. Ask one of the analysts on here if you want a better answer.

I've watched his high school games.
He's good. Very good. His receivers he had as a junior just sucked. Last year he had mono. Kid will be a good college QB.
I love it when Ohio fans criticize our recruiting at skill positions while touting their own. Who the heck do you have? Elliott and Marshall? We are rumored to be getting Derrick Green, who is 10x better than Elliott, and we already have Deveon Smith as well. So we are basically talking about one WR. We picked up two very good WRs and an almost certain All B10 TE last year (you will see them in 2013). And I watched Jalin Marshall in the UA game yesterday. Not exactly a world beater and what is he, 6"? We are looking for bigger WRs and if the big gap in skill players you are talking about is one player, Jalin Marshall, put me down as unimpressed.
Also, FWIW, I was hoping to compare Shane Morris to your 2013 QB commit, J.T. Barrett, but I didn't see Barrett in the game yesterday. Was he injured? I mean, he must have been invited, right?

I view Mich recruiting as similar to some of OSU's over the past 6-7 or so years. Very talented classes, but ultimately missing athletes that are good enough to compete with the top 4-5 teams in the country consistently. I felt like OSU was recruiting to win the Big 10, but not good enough to play with across the country talent. We would cherry pick 1-2 guys outside the midwest, but we had a comfort zone and stuck to it. I feel like Mich is doing the same thing right now. I don't think that's enough to get it done at the end of the day. I feel like bigger & faster (not one or the other) players are needed on defense and faster/more explosive skill players are needed on offense.
I also think that next year is a very important year for Mich and if they have another sub 10 win season their recruiting under Hoke won't be able to really go national. He doesn't have the resume or track record yet to hang his hat on for that.
Seen plenty of video of him at these event and watched whole games from the Opening, UA game, etc.., probably similar to most of the people on this thread. Nobody is really questioning whether he's been inaccurate or inconsistent, the question is what has he done to earn a 5 star rating. I haven't claimed to know more than anyone else, just asking for people to say why he's a 25 rated player. Potential seems to be the one answer.
In what recruiting class are these very good wr's and rb's coming to UM? Are there some walk ons/transfers we don't know about? We should be worried about Morris? Maybe, although I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he will be an All American type QB although I think he will a good player. As far as skill players you ought to worry about the fact that we are competing for national elites, but when we lose out on them our plan b and c kids are better than your plan A's.
Did he look like a top 25 player in the country to you? I'm asking not to be a dick, but because it sounds like you've seen more of him than anyone else on here.
Tune into the 2013 season. They will start hitting the field then. And, uh, good luck with those plan B and C kids.

Wut? If we get Green then WR and potentially CB (although not for a couple of years since Taylor and Countess are pretty good) is the only position where Michigan won't have size and speed. Every other position we've recruited extremely well at.
Honestly, if you had said that Michigan needs a couple of good WR's and a good RB then I would have said you had made a good point. But acting like we haven't recruited well on defense is just wishful thinking on your part.
This sight gets way too carried away with rankings. I've worked both saban's and dantonio football camps. At night I've got to watch 7-7 with their college players I've seen 100's of very good hs qb's. Gun to my head I say this kid will be a too QB in the league in three years.
I can't tell you "top 25" stuff. I'll let you argue that. This kid is good.
