For the Op.. Definitely homeland as a fast paced show with plenty of suspense, great acting and plot. I love mad men but its a very character-driven slower show with great dialogue, adultery, and drinking which may not be your style. I also agree with SOA and I, too, was skeptical at first about the whole motorcycle clubs and not being a fan, but its not really about that at all and it sounds more in line with your other shows. I'm a huge Office and How I met your mother fan as far as comedy's. Also, parks & rec is pretty funny and very similar to the office.
Im gonna get slammed for this, but I dont care, cuz I dont know any of you guys.
you've got to check out Eastbound and Down
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Flight of the Conchords is a wonderful little quirky HBO show
i highly recommend Portlandia on IFC.
DV for saying the Wire sucks pure blasphemy..
Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, House of Cards, Sons of Anarchy, and Shameless..
You have a little under 3 months until the next season. It's definitely doable.
One of the best shows ever IMO. Remember when Tony banged that one legged chick?
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
If you didn't like the Wire,I wouldn't recommend thus show.
i highly recommend Veep and Big Love was very good
Six feet Under is one of the best ever
The Larry Sanders Show is one of the best ever
I honestly think the office got better after Michael Scott left. Well actually after they got rid of will ferrell
Twin Peaks was a very enjoyable TV show for me
Or they like good shows
You're right the wire isn't good its legendary..

Yes it was great, but it ruined Dexter for me for a while when I started watching.
The director of Walking Dead needs sit down and have his actors watch House of Cards and be like watch Kevin Spacey this is how you effin act..
Would you classify Criminal Minds as a procedural cop show? That's always a favorite of mine.
If you like comedy's How I Met Your Mother, or Big Bang Theory is good. If you're into sci-fi Stargate was great, Eureka was a good show too. I never watched it but a lot of people say Firefly was a great series but it was short lived.
House was witty too.

In six feet under one of the main characters ia a gay undertaker is played by the guy who Is dexter. Took me a few episodes of dexter to get that role out of head

Wow, it has been a while since I heard anyone mention Twin Peaks. I really enjoyed that show but it was definitely different. Just like all of Lynch's work, it takes a certain type of viewer to really appreciate it imo.
Sex and the City and Girls are both really compelling. They're kind of like The Wire but with more cool sweaters and shoes and stuff.
