Going to a funeral in Chicago today for a 14 year old that was killed in a cross fire shoot out.
It is illegal to own a "firearm" in Chicago, not a handgun, a firearm. Guess that law is working well
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
Did she go to any other funerals of kids killed by firearms recently????
Her trip is strategic an racially motivated.
Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that this girl just performed at obama's inauguration....geez. every things gotta be racial huh?
I'm sure someone owned a slave after slavery was abolished. That law kinda worked...
Point being, one example doesn't prove anything.
Are you referring to the law that was overturned by the Supreme Court almost 3 years ago?
No, I'm talking about a different one
Out of genuine interest, can you tell me which one?
I can't see this thread ending badly at all....
"Playing here is the closest thing to heaven on earth..." - Brian Rolle
Jesus Christ, you're an idiot.
That is literally one of the dumbest comparisons probably ever.
The point wasn't to compare slavery and firearms sir. Sorry you missed that. Point is that one example of a law being broken doesn't mean the law isn't working. It's a stupid argument for someone to make in the first place.
I'm sure they can just wall off Chicago and prevent people from going into one particular city if they have guns. They can go all over the state or to other states to buy guns and bring them back.
I blame mental illness for these threads
Just as a heads up, you know in case you missed 15 years of schooling...
Probably not a good idea to compare anything to slavery in any way, shape, or form. Ever.
I'm in year #20 of schooling. Hopefully at some point they teach me that stupid rule.
This girl was murdered about 7 blocks away from Obamas house.
Yeah not sure what the OPs point is.
It's kind of a no brainer that localized
Bans don't work, especially when the ATF isn't allowed to track gun seller inventories, guns can cross state line, and private sales are unregulated.
From what I heard on the radio the other day. According to a study A lot of the guns are legally purchased in places like Missisippi in bulk, and then sold for profit on the "black market" in Chicago.
And... Feel sorry for the girl - but why turn it into a press and posturing opportunity???
The First Lady can go anywhere secretly - this is another move by the administration to publicize a tragic event to sway agenda driven policy.
Just show up and pay your respects - the world does not need to know Michelle is attending - infact it turns the whole event onto a "Michelle" event and less about the poor little girl.
You guys are so F-ing blind it's pathetic
And that is the point - press, protest and the First Lady attending is a strategic move. Why wouldn't Biden attend?? Too street for him?
4 years later and you guys are still making excuses for no progress
Everyone gets it about the Obama's being from Chicago, girl performed at inauguration, etc. What irks people is turning it into a "look at me" political agenda driven media event and making it all about Mrs Obama visiting and less about the girls tragic death. Everyone knows this has little to do about paying respect for the deceased and more about creating more media buzz about gun control. If it wasn't then it wouldn't be publicized and she could show up like a normal person and pay her respect.
Wow what a lunatic.
Believe it or not Mrs. Obama is an important person in the community. She has functions and gatherings all the time on the South Side.
It's not like she is randomly showing up to some kids funeral in Idaho. She has ties to the region.
This girl sang at the innaguration.
What a nut.

Ya seriously, this board is absurd. She is going back to Chicago - ya know, the city in the state where her husband was a Senator and they lived there their entire adult life. That Chicago?
And to the OP - no shit that rule doesn't work, not when it's not a law everywhere else. It's not like you have to pass customs to get into Chicago. The law is in place to give police a tool to reduce gang violence by making it a crime to own a firearm, just like the RICO act was put in place to give prosecutors a charge that would stick to mobsters back in the day.
Come out to the desert - I have some sand to sell you
This is the liberal response - everyone is a Nut who disagrees with Obama or anything liberal.
This is the first time Michelle has been to Chicago since Christmas to see family- just keep making shit up.
Meanwhile the economy is still shit, federal spending is up 8% since the 4th quarter, unemployment rate is at an all time high and out debt continues to grow into numerical values that a standard calculator cannot acknowledge.
But let's focus on NFL head injuries, free for all citizenship to all illegals currently in the US and postering for gun control at the expense of tragedy.
The only clear goal if the administration is to position the popular vote to elect Hillary as the next President with loyalty from free handouts, loyalty for uncontested citizenship, appeasing to women using sympathetic marketed gun policies, and free healthcare to the 16% of the US population that cannot afford $70 a month for a single rate basic policy with a deductible.

He has ties to Hawaii and Kenya - but you don't see anyone running out there when a tragedy occurs.
You should be upset that the liberal media has brainwashed you - stop blindly supporting a party because it is "your team"
