When you have voted, when you have served your country, when you have been to college, when you have raised a family, when you have held a significant job and had others lives dependent on your decisions, when you have paid for your first house and paid your own utility bills then you can talk to me about being educated but I have been all the above and you are a little spoiled, entitled teenager who thinks they have arrived. I hope you make it someday and i think you will cause you do have balls but until then no, I liked it better when you just didn't respond.
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
Some how I think we actually agree but haven't found the right word, you are correct, it is a society problem
Read the previous thread - clear you didn't
I'm sure a respectable person like yourself would not go to a funeral with an agenda and make it about you...
Alec Baldwin was interviewed by Howard Stern and he said it best "I do not typically go to weddings or funerals because it becomes about "me" and that would be the most disrespectful thing I could do to a person .... Unless I had a movie to promote and there were cameras there..."
I don't need to be any of those things to determine right from wrong. I also don't care about your political views, but claiming Obama isn't a citizen is absolute rubbish.
If it does not bother you - than why did you delete my post last night? Huh MOD?
C'mon I'll still buy you that beer
I deleted it because it would have set the thread on OUR board into a waste. Mods are supposed to delete posts that will cause people to go crazy on the boards.
I think you will agree that the post would have caused people to go crazy (lord knows PSU has a bunch of nutjob fans, like every other huge fan base). Hence, it was deleted. The point was to set people off, not to add to the board.
I am being dead serious. For all the hardcore republicans out there, who was the last fiscally conservative, responsible president from your party?
You have a huge voice but a party that has failed you my entire lifetime yet you continue to vote for them.
Maybe it is time to break the two party system and get into the future. We need more than a broken two party system.
Hell, this goes for Democrats too. We need an independent party and politicians that aren't tied to dirty money and agendas.

Well, I will agree to disagree with you, right from wrong is subjective to your programming and at your age you are programmed, you don't realize it right now but some day you will and will be "wth" when you do, I don't have a political affiliation any more, I grew up in a staunch republican family and at your age I "was" huge to the right but now at 41 living through 2 economic turmoils, 2 economic rebounds, wars, yada, yada, yada, I am about people learning to be responsible for themselves, planning their futures and so on. Guns aren't the problem, money isn't the problem.... People are the problem my friend, I don't care if you agree with me now, just remember this conversation about 20 years from now and reflect on it, keep it in the back of your mind. I could go on but won't, good luck to your generation sauce, 20 years from now when you are just about my age you are gonna look back and say "damn, what happened"
Oh no, these liberal teenagers do not like it when you tell them they have no life experience to form a real opinion. I had several tell me that it doesn't matter and they should still be taken seriously. They said they would take a never been married marriage counselor's advice and would believe someone's opinion about Canada that has never left their homestate.
I wonder what makes being a liberal seem cool to these high school and college students. Liberal teachers? Media? Unwillingness to think for themselves? Generations are getting more and more lazy.
Blaming an object for actions of an individual is flat out stupid.
Also when you elect a President that doesn't believe in the same morals as this country was founded on, things are bound to happen that most Americans, really lAmericans don't like.
Maybe I am not fully aware of your point of one example but heres an article that shows me far more than one person shot in Chicago.
A Free Press For A Free People Since 1997
Oh please, don't pull this age-ist BS. How many completely idiotic and irresponsible adults do you know? Being a teenager doesn't automatically mean that your opinion should be discarded.
Discarded? Maybe not. Hold less weight than someone who has life experience that deals with the issue? Absolutely.
Just because you're an adult who has "experience" with life issues doesn't mean you're at all competent or qualified to speak on those issues.
LOL yeah being old having kids and owning a home is great. But it doesn't Mean he isn't retarded and Part of the problem.
Anybody that questions the presidents citizenship is a moron. Plain and simple. Stupid people own homes too.
Nobody here is defending the gun ban in Chicago. It's no different than Arizonas radical immigration laws. When the Feds refuse to address a problem, states and municipalities are going to do what they think is necessary to combat the problem.
Ironically I am willing to bet that people like Mr Gfort, who thinks the gun ban "infringes in people's rights", has no problem with a dark skinned person spending a few days in an Arizona county jail because he left his green card at home and was pulled over for looking like an illegal.
Beat me to it
While I sincerely appreciate being labeled as a neo nazi, I guess you're better at on line profiling than I gave you credit for, I was not aware of the Arizona issue and I am against citizen infringement regardless of color. I am against illegals but not because of color but sociological impact and government enablement, so the Arizona thing is not right and I do not have a solution for it.
As for the age issue, I have had some outstanding conversations with younger people who are very level headed, but they still lack the "gut" instincts that comes with age which is why there are not a lot of 25 year old MBAs running companies like GM and there's and age limit on the presidency
Your earlier point about there being incompetent adults is spot on. Luckily, I figured out at a young age that half or more of our population is full of complete idiots.
However, you use our stupid country as an example of why we should respect teenager's opinions but just because older people are dumb doesn't mean that these teenagers are any less dumb than the idiot adults that you discount.
Yes, there are dumb adults but that doesn't mean that teenagers are not just as dumb and uninformed.
Frankly, you fall into that "half or more" of the population. Now that you've completely misinterpreted my post, allow me to correct you:
I used our stupid country as an example of why simply being an adult did not make one's opinions any more or less valid than a teenager. I said nothing about how idiotic adults should result in any sort of respect for teenage opinions.
I've just been saying that your kneejerk dismissal of teenagers and their thoughts is shortsighted and foolish.
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "sociological impact"?
That's exactly what you were saying. You used your example of "adults are dumb, too" as a reason to not discount teenager's opinions and as a reason to respect their opinions. I have no idea how you can say that you are meaning something different. Apparently you are the one in the retard percentile.
Ok, let me try to explain the nuances:
I said: "How many completely idiotic and irresponsible adults do you know? Being a teenager doesn't automatically mean that your opinion should be discarded."
Now, I'll point out that I never drew a causal link between the existence of irresponsible and idiotic adults and the validity of teenagers' opinions. Hell, I didn't even use the existence of irresponsible and idiotic adults to justify the second part of my post. Those two sentences existed independent of each other.
Had I wanted to justify the second part with the first, I would have said something like "I can give you 50 examples of teenagers more intelligent than you or I. Being a teenager doesn't automatically mean that your opinion should be discarded." You see how that links a common element in the sentences? Do you see how I deliberately didn't do that?
You're attempting to use your own faulty misinterpretation of my post as a strawman. You said: "you use our stupid country as an example of why we should respect teenager's opinions but just because older people are dumb doesn't mean that these teenagers are any less dumb than the idiot adults that you discount." This is entirely incorrect. At no point did I use adult idiocy as any sort of proof or justification of the validity of teenage opinions.
Once again: in my post, the first part was a rhetorical question, and the second part was an independent statement, the validity of which was in no way dependent on the first.
If you'd like to feel intelligent by knocking down one of my arguments, make sure you understand it first.
I will answer this the best I can on mobile, a few months back I had a meeting with the school districts accountant to chew his ass because a student did not have enough money in his food account and the cafe worker dumped his tray in front of him. I said "sir, don't you realize that for some kids this is the only meal they get a day?" He said "yes, I would put every kid I can on state assistance so they can eat but the state requires that they provide an IRS tax form to apply" I asked "and the problem?" He said " our city has an ordinance that states every home is a single family home, I can't tell you how many times I have reported 5+ families with the same address and the city did not even investigate it. I don't know what else to do, they go hungry and I don't know how to fix it", I told him if I as a business man can come up with a solution will you listen?", he said "absolutely!".
Now there are several points to this.
1. You are trying to be some liberal smart ass that thinks I don't give a shit about people and put me in some right wing neo nazi grouping thinking pattern because you are a young person and your gut instincts are actually shit
2. You think you are going to corner me for the higher cause of humanity and you think you have me figured out on here but you are young and programmed and haven't learned a little thing called humility. But again young people are "educated" and know pretty much everything
3. I live in a town of 25,000 per census that has hundreds of children that don't eat lunch every day because their parents are illegal, that bothers me greatly but you think you can question me, my experiences, the stripes on my back of the experiences in business, society, and humanity watching kids suffer ... Never mind I am talking to a wall, you think you know everything because you have a degree or are working one. Well sir I went to college for chemistry, agronomy, business management, economics, psychology, and finance. I only play dumb on here because it is a release mechanism. I am a corporate turn around manager. That means my job is to go in to a effed situations and get the heart of the people in that locale find the bleeding, make a team and fix everything about them. I know people, I know their lives and it makes me grossly sick.....daily. Is that enough for you curiosity?
But seriously, that really didn't answer my question. An unexplained anecdote, an angry rant in which you pretend to read my mind, and a bit of bragging about yourself do not a cogent response make.
I am legitimately curious about what you mean when you say "sociological impact."
