Tough loss last night. I was def. rooting against you guys, but it's always tough to get that far and lose. Still, a well played game on both sides.
My question to ya'll is about next year's Bball team. Who leaves and who stays?
Obviously, it seems Burke is 99.9% gone. What are ya'll hearing about Hardaway Jr., GR III and McGary?
ECU grad, tOSU fan for life. Father since 1/12/13.
If I had to guess, I'd say Hardaway leaves, GRIII and McGary stay. Had we won last night, I could've seen all 4 leaving, although I still could envision a scenario in which all 4 leave.
Burke's almost 100% gone, Hardaway and Robinson seem 50/50. McGary will probably stay.
The latter three should stay, they have a lot of room for improvement. Burke should leave - his stock will never be higher.
Very excited for Derrick Walton and Zak Irvin (incoming freshmen) to get on campus though.
Best guess is Burke, Hardaway, and GRIII leave. Losing all four is possible. But if McGary decides he's staying, and does it quickly, then that increases the odds that GRIII stays - they've played together forever and are roommates. Burke gone. Can't really imagine Hardaway coming back.
Thanks for the responses.
I agree about Burke. He should leave.
I also think Hardaway should leave, although he does have room to improve his stock (but also has room to decline). What I don't get is why GR III's stock is so high. Maybe I didn't watch enough of your games, but he doesn't really seem to be a 1st round talent. I think if he's really being projected as a 1st rounder right now, i would leave if I were him. McGary seems to be a 1st round talent, but he could improve his stock a lot by coming back
Burke most likely leaving. Hardaway will probably leave, but he really shouldn't. Went cold way too often. GRIII and McGary would both be out of their mind to leave.
Although if all of them stay...Michigan will be near unstoppable next year and I would have more respect for Burke than any player in any sport ever if he stayed.
McGary and GRIII are projected as late 1st-round picks, at best. If they come back, I think GRIII ends up mid-1st-round and McGary is a lottery pick, easy.
That was an impressive performance, best college basketball NC I've ever seen.
I always cheer for the smart guys, lol.

GRIII's stock is so high because he has the frame and baseline skillset of an NBA 3. He hasn't really shown those skills, but he's young enough that talent evaluators will give him a pass on it. He's a guy that can hurt his stock by staying if he doesn't develop those tools - or if those tools don't develop to the extent of expectations.
Also, the bloodlines are a big factor. He gets an even bigger pass on the assumption that the tools will develop because of Big Dog. Also, teams know they will be getting a guy who knows how to be a pro.
Yeah, i think McGary coming back is the easiest decision of the bunch. He has the potential to have his draft stock rise the most out of all 4.
GR III and Hardaway would be taking chances if they came back. There stock could go up (but not by much like McGary's could), or it could plummet. Especially with Burke leaving, that might expose Hardaway and GR III since they don't have the best guard in CBB playing with them.
Preciate the explanation. That makes sense. He does look like a NBA player, but has yet to play like one. But as you said, he is a true frosh.
Next yrs draft class, looks to be, loaded.
Late, or fringe, 1st rounders in this class, could possibly fall to mid 2nd rounders next yr.
This yr's group is the weakest draft class in a while.
If you gotta chance to be a 1st rounder this yr, you jump on it. It'll be too risky waiting around on next yr.

Good point...anybody from UF leaving early?
We lose 3 sr starters. But, the feeling around the program, is that next yr is expected to be big.
