Wrong again. They were never in the ball park of competing in the industry. You act as if a downturn caused their failure when they were failing before. Their loan was shot down twice by the Bush Admin and was surprisingly fast tracked once Obama took office.
Also, I didn't recall it being $535 million. That is insane.
In the overall scheme of things it is a drop in the bucket. This is a political thread about energy so naturally Solyndra is going to be mentioned.
I am not blowing it out of proportion, but rather debunking your arguments for defending it. Your constant defense of it makes it seem that you have no problem with it but we all know that had Bush done it that you would be all over it. Since Bush shot it down twice and Obama guatanteed it, you are defending it.
Again, you are defending it by saying it could've happened to anybody, pretty common, etc.
It's laughable to see you put "Give the Bush shit a rest" since blaming Bush is your party's motto.
I would look like a complete moron if I was defending Obama or Bush for something that stupid. And it's the stupidity of it that irks people and makes it look like a shady deal.
So we shouldnt blame bush but apparently cant blame obama either. Who do we blame?
Seriously Obama could come out today and say he was born in Kenya, which would make him ineligible to be president, and this idiot would be defending him.
So is he a Marxist communist or a Muslim? Just trying to keep up here. Guy should just show his birth certificate I mean that's demanded publicly of every president ever right?
What'd we double it from? 2 to 4%?
Not to troll/flame, but if Im reading your posts correctly, in 6 years you've gone from an unknowing and uncaring high school freshman to the man with all the answers.
Obama is most likely is agnostic. Which fits into his believes of socialism/communism.
Well I guess that's the reason gas is so high. We continue to pour our money into this crap.
Why do they need a tax credit?
As production kept increasing, in the mid to late 70's as neoliberalism gained traction, our wages fell disproportionately. The private sector (households) kept taking on more debt, as a replacement, to maintain living standards. Ultimately this led to a false sense of confidence and the spending and thus, the economy, was growing on speculation (stock bubble in 90's, housing bubble). Not to mention we ran a govt surplus in the late 90's which also reduced private sector net savings. Once the housing bubble finally burst, it was clear there was no more private sector spending that could support the speculative bubble economy that was built. The spending now has to find real goods and services from which to build our economy. The blame can be passed around.
They don't and neither does GE or facebook. End all credits/subsidies and cut corporate rates in half.
Gas is on the way out, one way or another, in due time. Time to accept that.
So is everything else in this world, in due time.
Gas isnt going anywhere as long as big oil is around.
No. It is lack of experience coupled with arrogance buoyed up by a news media only reporting the President’s position with any opposition reflected in a negative light. Not to far off from "blind loyallty."
President Obama fell back on the one thing he has done in his life; that is to be a community organizer. He found his issue defined as a lack of ‘fairness’ in tax rates, and the Budget Control Act of 2011 was crafted to bring a tax increase on the wealthy to the forefront of National attention. He needed to spend Federal money to swing the upcoming Presidential election in his favor so he entered into the BCA of 2011 with Congress to get his funding. The election is over, Obama is still President, but payment has come due = sequestration.
The President intended to just rule by decree and bypass the Budget Control Act of 2011. His technique of psychological crowd manipulation that was so effective on the dysfunctional urbanite population down on 95th street has proven to be valueless in the face of a diverse Congress.
Unable to achieve his goal of unrestricted spending, Obama is now blaming the wealthy for not paying enough taxes. He blames the Republicans for not giving him his way. He is relying on the new media to carry his water by making excuses and further blaming the Republicans. This is the pattern with Obama.
He reeks of inexperience. The ultra smart liberal elite President was unable to scale up his psychological political tricks to the Feds. He is unable to cut a deal with Congress, and he his proving to be unable to direct Government policy in a positive manner. Rather than execute policy to solve the problem, Obama is in effect campaigning for the public to do his job.
Psychological Headliners Coming From the White House if the Furloughs Occur:
"You will not be able to travel safe"
"Our National Defence will be Down"
"Food Inspectors will not be able to do their job and protect you and your children"
"Boarder Patrol will not be able to prevent dangerous illegals from coming in"
He is using psychological warfare on his own people to make up for his inability to actually Lead.
Not to mention - this is the 4th year in a row that he is late on submitting his budget to congress - which is a federal violation of law in his office seat.
Obama has proposed budgets late every year, in violation of law. Obama's FY14 budget proposal was due 4 Feb 2013. It is LATE AGAIN - Shocker! Last year, Obama's budget did not garner a single vote, not even from a democrat. It was soundly rejected by the democrat-controlled Senate 99 to 0. Despite Obama's late and unsupported budget proposal last year, the House finished appropriations bills and passed to the Senate in July last year - plenty of time to negotiate and pass a budget. Reid (democrat Senate Leader) refused to allow the budget on the Senate floor for debate, amendment, or vote.
But when you have 3 out of the 4 major reporting companies carrying the liberal agenda - these ugly truths never see the light of day.

Hey at least Fox News is trying harder than all 3 combined to "report" your sides opinions- I mean news.
He has been in college almost a year now, so show him some respect.
I bet you're one of those people who wants the U.S. to go up in flames just so you can say "See, I told you so, Obama sucks" and you're just a little bit disappointed that Obama's presidency hasn't caused the apocalypse.
When the ignorant become uncomfortable with the truth, they resort to juvenile retorts (LOL) and Emoticons to try to discredit the source. This theory is borne out by your worthless comments over and over again.
Yes - I am one of those people
It must be wonderful. Maybe someday you'll tell me about what your little alternate reality feels like. Are there unicorns there?
Even though I lean right, I do agree with some of the left when it comes to some things. So my stance is not coming from a party agenda.
However, everything you wrote about Obama is how I feel. He is not a leader and I am sick of his empty promises. What is his trademark going to be? Dividing the country? Talking about what needs to be done?
As I mentioned earlier, there was a Dem President, Dem House, and Dem Senate and they didn't accomplish shit. Now that his ideas are being shot down it is the Republican's fault. But if that was really the case, why couldn't he atleast pass a budget before when he had no Republican opposition?
His constant campaign for approval and use of the media is getting old, as well. He talks a good game and says relevant stuff that many people agree with but until it is implemented then it is nothing more than talk. Talking about change all the time is not the same as making changes.
