Big Canadian banks, some small by not as volatile tech companies, some energy companies.

Pump and Dump
I have $0 in the market. It's all in real estate. I don't know enough about the stock market and I dont care to learn at this point.
seriously if it makes any difference, I'm in a China Small Cap fund, GLD, and a couple oil companies.
Have a brokerage account but don't have the money necessary to buy a reasonable amount of anything since I just graduated, I do a little option trading though since it's low risk/low reward and you don't need as much capital.
MSG. Doubled my investment in under 2 years. They're about to complete phase 3 of the reno to and its only going up.
It appears to be a good time for short term investments in the stock market. I wouldn't buy now for anything long term, though. With the current environment, if you are looking for long term investments then think hard assets such as gold, silver, real estate, etc.

I've made a good bit of money on penny stocks the past 3-4 years.
always seemed like a rigged game to me. The pros have more info, and with the amount of capital at their disposal they can manipulate the price on a penny stock quite easily
Yup... And short the stock too.
Solar energy and penny stocks have been kind to me over the years though.
I'm boring compared to most.
I hold index mutual funds with low expense ratios and turnover. Wife and I are 30/31 and hold a pretty aggressive asset allocation emphasizing small and mid cap companies.
The guys I read and follow their principles are Jack Bogle, Burton Malkiel, and Dave Ramsey.
