Barkley's decision not to throw at the combine has execs and scouts frustrated. History shows that HS hype does not equal NFL success.
From Yahoo! Sports: NFL scouts and executives aren't high on Matt Barkley after his decision to not throw at the NFL Combine.
All-seeing instrument. Supreme perception. Omnifocal accumulator... Its gaze upon the blind. Information divinity by man designed.
Clausen had the ultimate HS hype that never turned out... He was a stud in the camp circuit at a really young age but was never going to be much in the pros.
No one's hype has ever exceeded Ron Powlus. People were talking about him winning possibly 4 heisman's while at Notre Dame.

Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Reminds me of I think it was Perrileaux (or however you spell his name) going to LSU and saying he was going to win four.

"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
SoCal QBs seem to receive private QB coaching from a much younger age than all other regions.
The private QB coaching seems to allow the players to reach their ceiling much faster... but then they hit that ceiling and plateau. Once they plateau (like Barkley, for instance), the QB seems to start forcing things as if they expect more of themselves... but they can't take that next step and fall apart.
I love this clip
From ESPN College Scoreboard that aired on November 13, 1993. After #2 Notre Dame Defeated #1 Florida State Beano Cook predicts Notre Dame will win two national championships and Ron Powlus will win two Heisman Trophies in the next four years. Of course this was not to be.

Luck, rg3, stafford, brees, dalton, tannehill are all busts?
Ncaaasssin is tard.
I remember that. hahaha Good ole Beano. I miss him.
In the old Rivals.com Pit, Kevin Noon (now the rivals.com Ohio state pub) used to do a great Beano Cook impression. We'd have him breakdown quarterbacks and their future all the time in his Beano voice.
Beano was always wrong on his pics I swear hahaha
JMO but, I think Beano actually gave espn the idea to start college gameday with Corso.
All I know is that USC QBs could never get it done in the pros. If the QB is from Cali and actually did something decent in the NFL it is likely because of their non-Trojan college career.

Well, let's make a count here....
Super Bowl Appearances:
Kerry Collins: 1
USC QBs Combined: 0
All-Time Passing Yards
Kerry Collins: 12th all time - 40,922 yards
USC's Highest = Carson Palmer: 40th all time - 29,465
LOL at USC and their crappy QBs. They get to the NFL and suck ass.
EDIT: And at you for referencing a PSU QB that has a better NFL career than any USC QB. What a tool you are!

California QB's aren't even worth recruiting... if I was a head coach I wouldn't touch them with a 18 foot pole, I love that Jimbo never recruits them as well
I have hated them for most of my life, for every good one there is 20+ that are just terrible between the ears
Chris Rix, Kyle Wright, Matt Leinart, Barkley, Sanchez and on the list goes
So many total pussies its not even funny, Max Wittek is the next 5 star crispy cum dumpster
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Neither are anything to brag about so WGAF?
Leave it to him to argue it with passion though
Amen.. All of the CA kids who are great NFL qb's are the lower rated ones: Kaepernick, Brady, Rodgers.
These sites are terrible at ranking QB's coming out of high school
Its not even funny
Every year I look at who they rank high and who they don't and just laugh hysterically
cause quarterbacks are gay
Who said anything about Florida ?
You are terrible at this
Florida doesn't produce QB's ? really, Im pretty sure everybody on earth knows that
Why can't you admit that California dominates when it comes to producing the gayest QB's the world has ever seen, led by the Trojans
Kyle Wright is the reason I hate Cali QB's.
He had one good game at VT and that's all he did at Miami.
Didn't FSU once have a QB named "Thad"? Pretty sure it doesn't get any queerer than that.
and literally none of those dudes were major high school all stars who got unwarranted hype every single season
You can't be this bad at this ?
And Brad Johnson and Ponder are better than Leinart, Sanchez and Barkley
That much isn't up for debate
Its funny how pissed it makes you queens when people bash the homo QB's from California
Also the best part of you picking those names is most of them beat the piss out of USCw
I know Weinke, PTW and Thad did for sure

lolz his name is his name, the man Thad Busby was twice the man as those needle dick pussies from the west coast
He has no control over his name, but all those douchebags from Cali have control over their day to day actions
You two are so stupid it makes this too easy
I guess your definition of success is constantly falling short of reaching the ultimate game. USC QBs have been good for one thing... betting that they wouldn't do enough to take their team to the promise land. And by the looks of things, that isn't going to change anytime soon. Maybe one day... until then, USC has produced nothing worth noting.
And yes, everyone knows that PA has historically produced more superior QB talent than Cali. You aren't telling us anything new.
