What's worse is that it took the Irish a very long time to assimilate into US "culture". Not until the late 40s can one make an argument that Irish were Americans. Although all that controversy with JFK a Irish american catholic presidentdidnt help things. That means at least 50 years, and that's without mass media spouting everyday that they were bad, just the newspaper. Imagine how long they would have taken to assimilate had Americans at the time been bombarded every day with Irish are bad for america and increase the crime rate and don't believe in the same god.
I know you're on TeamWhite but domestic violence, fighting with police and speeding is worse.
So is the new liberal argument that Western Civilization simply doesn't exist...dumbest thing I have ever heard.
This isn't about the US. I have in the past expressed my thoughts on US immigration, apparently you have a short memory.
Do you even know what multiculturalism is?
Rassenschande ist schlecht! Rassenschande ist schlecht!
Multiculturalism just means cultural diversity, and refers to communities with a mixture of cultures. When talking ideologically, it refers to the promotion of communities of inclusion and diversity. Any other meaning you want to ascribe to it is simply co-opting an already established term.
Since you mentioned the US, I was using the US as an example of how countries don't have one original "mainstream culture" - culture evolves over time.
I also don't really bother trying to remember specific bits of the drivel that comes out of your mouth.
Communities with no adhesiveness, no commonalities, and which are hotbeds of conflict waiting to happen.
This is the same sh*t Hitler said.
Countries do have mainstream cultures, borrow a phrase from you, you are really too dumb to know how dumb you are.
Since most agree that assimilation is important for a large foreign population to integrate into a society, which groups do you think are doing the best job? Muslims? Mexicans? Indians? Other?
Or would you argue that the refusal to assimilate is not a big deal and that we should be sympathetic to them anyway, no matter how illegal, anti-American some groups can be?
Ok, bro, whatever you say.
Care to take a stab at my previous post?
Well first I agree with the concept of assimilation. The concept is necessary for a society to exist. However I do not agree with the ways in which assimilation is pressed here. First in the united states language is barely taught to help assimilate those that are here legally, ever walk into those EAS classes in high school? And what English is taught in high schools isn't even enough for native speakers. Two the immigration policy of america is deeply flawed where its far easier to come here legally if one has education and money. This is highly documented. So while I don't agree with illegals, we have laws for a reason, I believe that the laws make illegal immigration worse than it is. A number of these illegals are brought over through many human trafficking organizations, groups that have ties to drug cartels. I don't have a measure of assimilation, it isn't something that can be given numerical value. In my personal opinion I have yet to find immigrants who haven't assimilated to our ideals. I would argue that Asians are far less likely to fully assimilate than that of other recent immigrants.
No adhesiveness? No commonalities? What's the difference between me and you? How about the difference between you and another american? Don't you see your argument in itself is tearing apart Americans by separating Americans into those who were here first, those who most adhere to the thought process of the majority, and those that act in the manner which you term american. What you are asking for isn't american.
And those mainstream cultures change every generation. You think our parents would condone our idol worship of beiber or the jersey shore if that was going on when they were kids? How about those devil ideas liberals keep asking for, marriage equality and obamacare? You think these things would have been acceptable when our parents were kids? Mainstream cultures change all the time.
This post is nothing but nonsense.
Assimilation in the sociopolitical sense is not a necessity for integration, nor does it mean giving up all cultural values of whatever society an immigrant came from. It's impossible to say which population has "assimilated" the best since so much of what some view as "assimilation" is really cultural evolution over a long period of time. Different arguments for different cultural groups can be made depending on whatever arbitrary starting point you choose.
Your second question doesn't even merit an answer.
Ok. So how about you give us a comprehensive description of the deeper, American "mainstream culture"?
Some men just want to see the world divided as fvck.
Some men just don't want to see anyone who doesn't look, act, speak, and think like them anywhere near them.
Since assimilation is being a part of the system then I would think that "the system" that we all think about is being patriotic (not Muslims), paying taxes (not Mexican), and trying to better themselves. To say that Asians are the worst is ridiculous. Id say that they and the Indians are buying into the American society way more than Mexicans and Muslims.
With education and money, you can do anything, not just move to a different country. I'm sure that you believe all countries but the US have huge programs where immigrants can come in and be fast tracked. Why should the US spend extra money to pave the way for immigrants?
Did not read article or thread. Assume it has something to do with Islam or foreigners or the poor.
