Okay, TBB, we should start taking nominations for the 2013 'Gunner Kiel Award'.
The GKA goes to the recruit with the most hilarious, outrageous, stupid, silly, or otherwise ridiculous recruitment for the class of 2013. Stuff that helps - flipping schools often, getting tattoos of a school on your forearm, then decommiting from that school, committing/decommitting due to weird circumstances (creepy guys following you around as a recruit, no Chik-Fil-A on campus), having mom hate your decision on National TV, having mom make your decision for you (looking at you RK), etc, etc, etc.
Reuben Foster should win this in a landslide
Alex Anzalone, DeMarcus Robinson, and a few others could give him a run for his money.
I don't know much about his recruitment but I've never seen so many threads started about a 4 star linebacker.
should be a close vote between Anzalone and Foster. Anzalone has flip-flopped the most, but Foster has the style points with the tattoo.
If Foster gets another tat of a school he isn't attending not only should he get the award, he should get it named after him.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
Yeah if anyone has a better recruitment than Kiel's, I'm open to changing the name. I started off with the Landon Collins award, but I think Kiel's was better.
Matt Rolin. Commits to S.Car, gets surgery by S. Car's physicians . . . . and flips to UF.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Gators are stacking up on Chris Martins this class.
It had to start somewhere. We cant name the Heisman trophy the Tebow trophy or whoever. Regardless, the Kiel award goes to Foster.
Damn Strong Football Team
That's a good one too. Wouldn't he have been a 3rd generation SC player?
- Foster commits to Bama
- Foster moves states to go to high school in Auburn. Bama fans are suspicious
- Foster assures Bama fans he is committed to the program.
- A month later, Foster reads the exact same speech TJ Yeldon read when he flipped from AU to Bama at the press conference. He then shows his AU tattoo that Trooper Taylor branded on his arm.
- AU goes full retard and coaches get fired....weedline laughs
- Foster says he is still committed to AU and will remain committed
- The same day, he says he is no longer committed, and is looking around. AU is still very much in it he says....but maybe not
- A few weeks later he tells people no way he is going to AU b/c of how they treated da Troopah.
- That changes, and he then names a top 3 of Bama, AU, UGA.....adds LSU later that night to make 4
- Then takes random Washington official visit out of the blue
- UGA takes lead, AU out
- AU back in, 50/50 with UGA, likes new coaches and wants to honor cousin
- May not announce on signing day, wants to be sure
this kids wins and it's not even close. The award needs to be renamed the Foster award. Willie IWllams thinks Foster is retarded
Best part of the whole thing right there...
Anzalone is the winner
At one point Anzalone released a statement just to say he was still committed to Notre dame. Was pretty hilarious. That tattoo is tough to beat though.
Anzalone is my vote.
Dude is way overrated and commited to nearly every school north of the Carolinas.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
this is easy for the state of Florida
its Keith Bryant....there is actually a picture on the web of him wearing a Florida State sweatshirt and throwing up the U
thats unheard of....also he said he was 99.9% sold on Miami a few weeks ago but the consensus is that he is FSU bound
just a ridiculous kid....not the smartest
Foster has to win this!
Anzalone would just about any other year that didn't involve Gunner or Foster, but Foster wins on style points.
Can it get any better?
Well, he could delay his announcement about a month to only commit and still not qualify.
If that happens, the award gets a name change, IMO.
Agree 100% An love the pix too lol
I would put Joe Mathis as a dark horse. He "nearly" committed to about 50 different schools.
You guys must've missed the Jordan Payton recruitment from last year.
Publicly committed to four different schools.
This is true
Lavon Hooks recruitment was pretty gnarly as well.
Teein' Off on Links
Who was the kid that Kiel'd Alabama at the last minute to go to FSU? He should win it ...
I say Nkemdiche.
Strong lean to Bama during JR year.
Goes to Clemson during summer, rumors swirl he committed.
Tells Rivals he committed to Clemson.
23 H.S. teammates get offers from Clemson and commit.
Decommits from Clemson.
Almost commits to Ole Miss.
Announces Clemson and Alabama aren't finalists, but LSU is.
If he commits to LSU, he wins the award IMO.
Maquadius Bain at least deserves an honorable mention.
FSU Football. Making cool the new swag since 2013.
