One of my good friends is a Tennessee fan and thinks it will be Charlie Strong, is there any real chance of that?
That would be a great hire.
That honestly would be a great hire for Tennessee
Or anybody. Really think he's the next big time coach.
Strong is supposedly this defensive minded coach. Well, his defense can't stop anyone. There are better choices for Tennessee.
Strong did pretty well at UF w all of their talent, but at S. Carolina it was pretty routine to see 3rd and 18,22,27,31 converted.
Stoops is not leaving Norman.
I would love to see Strong get a big time job but I do not want to see him take the Tennessee job.
I just don't think he has any interest in leaving unless something has happened at the Sooners want him to leave. I have always heard he is very happy in Norman. He has had some chances to leave Norman for some very good jobs over the years. I don't see Tennessee being the job to make him leave. Just my take.
People say the same thing about Saban though, maybe he is ready for a new challenge
Hopefully its Strong.

wishful thinking on your part.............later gator!
Stoops is 11 wins away from being the all time winningest coach at Oklahoma. think about that for a second. Doubt he's leaving until he takes over that distinction.
I've Heard all day today that gruden was in fact gonna be the guy
On the radio
Too bad he's going to the Eagles
Why is Jon Gruden such a big deal? Didn't get get fired from TB due to crappy teams?
I think I'm on the Gundy train, Oregon type potential and he won't be anyone's little brother...heard him an AD have a Johnson/Foote relationship from Miami
He was a really shitty call away from a Super Bowl in Oakland as well. He's a good coach I just have lots of doubts about his ability to develop really young talent and would he be able to recruit.
Because the guy would effing kill it in recruiting. Absolutely crush it. He wont be at Tennessee though most likely obviously. I think Tubberville would be a realistic and good choice for Tennessee. The current roster doesnt respect Dooley. They'd respect Tubberville.
Obviously he has no established track record but to me asking if he can recruit is like asking if Oprah Winfrey could compete on the competitive eating tour.
The guy can sell a vision to you in thirty seconds or less like few others.
Rumor has it that Grudens kids were at the big Christian Acadamy in Knoxville today touring it. It's where all the high dollar kids go to school up there. Just hear say, so tifwiw.
What job is Gruden not the leader for?
I can see that. But would he WANT to do that type of high level recruiting? You see guys like Spurrier and Tubberville who just dislike recruiting their asses off. But you do have a point. If he went out and did it, it would be hard for a lot of kids to turn him down.
My biggest fear is his being able to develop talent. that's still a complete 100% mystery.
They landed with Dooley last time....
What makes you think they get any better this time?

I know you're just flaming but there is a litany of evidence as to why the job is more desirable now then before. Flame on though shortbus.
