I could not take it seriously past when it noted that Tennessee was an elite program.
Maybe UT could qualify for tarp money? They are too big to fail.
Most of the players we have gotten from that state have been ballers though. The first two that come to mind are Hightower and Barrett Jones.
Didn't read the link FWIW so I'm not sure where OP is going with this.
It's an article entailing how our athletic department is financially at an unstable level. Nothing to do with recruiting. Just throwing some jabs at a dead horse.
Butch Jones. Who???
$200 million in debt (most in the SEC by far)
Only $1 million in reserves (least in the SEC by far)
Pays over $21 million per year on debt alone.
Shrinking attendance year over year.
In other words.................................DUMPSTER FIRE
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Just burn it down.
Again, beating a dead horse. I'm glad this is giving some of you enjoyment. I sure got my fun in the early 2000s.
Yeah well we have more than gotten our share of fun since then. Your program is finished, frankly I don't see UT ever being a major player again.
You're well entitled to your opinion. Many people don't think Tennessee will ever be a national power in the coming years. I'll be cheering for the Vols whether we are 13-0 in the Championship game or 0-12 suffering our first 8 loss+ season in program history.
Keep kicking us while we're down. It's fun isn't it. Our first step back in the right direction after hiring those horrible Saban disciples was hiring a proven winner. The next step is taking Vonn Bell away from you. The next step will be a bowl game ... and then hey ... we're relevant again .. and this staff can obviously recruit. They don't play around. Tennessee has everything it needs to recruit against anyone. They just have to start winning again. Once that happens we'll start pulling in great classes and hey then we're going to start whipping everyone's a$$ again. Patience young rivals. You will gets yours.
Well you are a loyal fan I will give you that.
Post of the Year!!
Note: it was meant as a joke, right?
Idk if you guys are trolling or not but if you think a program like Tennessee is going to stay down you're seriously just stupid. If bama was down i'd fully expect them to come back. All programs go through these types of things. We know we've stunk it up lately. Everything in my last post is true and there isn't a single part of it that should be taken as a joke.
Top facilities, top fanbase, top importance. SEC team and SEC recruiting ground. All Butch has to do is prove he can win at UT. The recruits will follow. They love the guy. I will leave it on this post.
You do know that Bama has three 5* safeties on our roster right now. All underclassmen.
Is this really still a story?
That's what building a 50 million dollar athletic facility and 150 million dollar stadium renovations gets you....just get one of the several billionaire boosters to write a check
I'll give you facilities at the moment, but... Fan base? Importance?
Holy shit this is grand. What a tard
Does it make you proud to be the absolute embarrassment of our fanbase on a board where the BOL'rs don't lick your testicles? Do you go back to our homeboard and giggle while they give you 100 upvotes for saying Roll Tide?
UT's biggest crutch is location. i will admit it is beautiful in the area but its difficult to recruit because there TN just isnt a recruiting hotbed outside of Memphis. the will make another run at the East in a few years but i dont see UT getting back to consistent power anytime soon, especially now that vandy is doing decent at recruiting
Just leave please.
Your posts provide nothing to this board and I think it would just be better if you didn't grace us with our presence.
He entertains me. I, for one, enjoy his stupidity.
