people in the Auburn Athletic Dept, President's Office, and Gene Chizik for making us a bottom dweller for years to come.
Burn in Hell.
It really is just plain dumb that UTk, Auburn, or Ark hasn't fired their coach and started getting the offers out there. So many teams are going to need coaches at the end of the year, the winning strategy is to need one the soonest.
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
Its great to be an Auburn Tiger............................................................................ lol
Did I miss something?
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
Im mad as hell
UT is not that smart and Cheek wont take a chance on someone like Petrino unfortunately . no idea who the heck they will hire if DD is even on the block right now
I'm glad as hell. Send him to the east!
makes sense to me , win win
How long has Gruden been out coaching now? Guy is probably going to be the next Madden and never.come back.
For Auburn, I agree. I don't think Tennessee has fully decided what they are going to do yet. Arkansas is a completely different scenario. JLS's contract is going to run out and there is going to be a new coach. There is no question about that. For what he and the coaching staff have done and had to put up with since April, I think they owe it to them not to just fire them all like that and let them ride it out until the end of the season.
I can see it now. EA Sports Gruden Football 2021. Just doesn't have the same ring to it though.
Is Gruden really even a great coach? He inherited a wealth of talent from Tony Dungy and then preceded to burn it to the ground in less than 5 years. He hasn't been a college coach in 25 years. I have my doubts he would be that great in college TBH.
And, he hates developing players. Anyone think he's REALLY going to leave the MNF booth & $4.3m/yr to chase recruits to Knoxville? No effin way.
Yes. This. Infinitely. I've never understood the obsession with Gruden. I know he's a good coach to an extent, but do you honestly want a guy that has no idea what modern day recruiting is like to go up against Saban and Co.? I'm sure he'd do a decent job but I just have my doubts he'd be NC caliber.
If I remember correctly, a lot players at Tampa Bay didnt like Gruden very well at the end and were glad to see him gone. Was it Keyshawn Johnson that Tampa Bay suspended because he didnt get along with Gruden? I know it was some wide receiver
gruden would be a great recruiter
You think? I have my doubts. And hes a West Coast offense guy.
He would be an amazing recruiter. The guys has so much passion and energy its insane.
He was an NFL coach, that right there gives him tons of credibility.
I don't see how on earth it would be hard for Gruden to recruit. Name 3 coaches in the college game that can flash a Super Bowl ring that they were the head coach of the team. Saban can't even pitch that. Saban knows how to get kids into the NFL, but he doesn't know how to get them ready to be Super Bowl champion caliber players.
Butch Jones. Who???
Plus, he is so popular right now that kids would flock to his school on visits just for the story. After getting them on campus all he has to do is convince a third of them that he's as competent as his reputation makes him out to be to thrive. With today's youth that doesn't seem to be a tall task. He would make what Lane Kiffen did early on at UT look like child's play

Keyshawn didn't get along with any of his coaches
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
no need to worry, Pat Dye plans to hire himself for the gig.
