Not even a top 10 LB in the country. Missed tackles, couldn't shed blocks, did a lot of running around blockers (which opened huge holes), played with a lack of desire... 2nd in the Heisman? LOL.
The domer-hype-machine did WAY too much for him.

10? Ok I'll start the list:
he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
I think he's a great player. It had more to do with Eddie Lacy being healthy and his combination of speed, moves and power.
Te'o sucked tonight
Mosley was a real LB
Is he over-hyped? Possibly, maybe even probably.
Is he still the best inside linebacker in the country? I think he is.
It's not fair to say he's not a good linebacker on the premise that he played poorly in one game. That's a small sample size.
He played well all year. I think he deserves respect.

I'm not saying he is a bad player... but best ILB in the country? Not even close. You can't be the best ILB when you try to run around blockers and can't shed the ones that do get to you. He was putrid tonight. Mosely showed him up, big time.
Not to mention he was getting blocked by one of the best guard prospects of all time
Te'o is the most decorated LB of all time. If he was that good, he could have at least won a battle or two. He didn't make a play all night.
Yeah he is overrated though I agree. Part of it is his stories, and all the media hype. Minter from LSU is a much better LB imo.
Jarvis Jones should be filling out police reports on all of those stolen trophies.
A lot of the mock drafts have the Lions picking Te'o at #5. I would be so pissed if we do that. Would be an absolutely terrible pick.
JJ was steamrolled by Bama's OL too.
As a pass rusher..he is an OLB who is a pass rush specialist. After tonight im not what Teo has that an other LB doesnt, but he got dominated by the Oline AND Lacy and Yeldon made him look less than average.
He still got 2 sacks on McCarron.
He has a golden dome on his head. That is the only reason he was even discussed. If he played for, say LSU, he wouldn't even have been up for any of those awards he won.
Mosley and Minter are easily better than Te'o. He got all of those awards simply because he played for ND. If it had been Minter playing for ND, he would be the most decorated ILB ever. He won the awards on hype and because of the team he played on. Not because he deserved them.
It's a mixture of both.
The dline was severely over matched, which put Te'o in spots he wasn't used to being in.
But, Bama's OL vs UGA was way more impressive, IMO.
Te'o will be the 1st ILB Drafted end of story.. One bad game wont define 4 years of tape i'd say any where from 12-25 middle of the 1st rd.
Or if his grandma hadn't died

I'd hate to be the team that picks him up. Why would anyone want a guy who stinks that bad?
I think he's more a Johnny on the spot kind of football player. Denard helped his Heisman hype this year by throwing him a couple right into his arms. Every other year the 2 met, Denard made him look stupid
The INTs are the thing that people point to... I'm sorry, but the kid never even had an INT until this year. That 7 INT number doesn't mean a thing as to the quality of LB that he is.
Actually only had one tackle vs BC. Yes my anti teo arguments are still in my mind.
INTs for linebackers are largely the product of luck in the form of tipped balls. INTs are much more of a measurement of skill for the secondary.
Hell, even Brent and Herbie were commenting during the game about how many of Te'o's INTs came on tipped balls over the middle.
Yep, but for some reason, people think that is a great stat for a LB. I don't get it. Honestly, it's probably a better stat for the DC because unless it's a tipped ball, an INT by a LB usually happens because the defense confused the QB.
I'll say this, I wouldn't take him over Mauti for PSU. No way.
Te'o is a good LB, maybe a hair over hyped but I think he is a good player. All of y'all saying that he is vastly overrated are just flat wrong, whenever you have our monster O-line blocking you then you wil look pretty bad too. The only reason Minter had so much success was because of their big D-line.
Note: I do think Minter is better against the run than Te'o, so i'm not saying he is bad.
