Count your blessings. That was a clear fumble and the RB never crossed the goaline. Shocked that wasn't ruled a fumble. Congrats on the win! Honest question didn't you guys expect your D to be better this year? Have not been impressed with your front 7..
While it was a fumble, bur he was right that there wasn't a clear possession recovery immediately following the fumble to establish possession for OSU.
Yes we expected the D to be better. We are not a top defense like we thought we would be. Way too many big plays being given up and tackles missed.
Our offense, surprisingly is leading us.
XoGisele, Ashley Sky, Niki Skyler
Not playing with Hicks really hurt us tonight though.
Yes we expected it to be a lot better. Looks like our players were too busy reading the pre-season magazine hype. Bunch of pussies. Vaccaro and Byndom buying into the Thorpe hype. Phillips isnt as good as we thought. Our linebackers are no where to be found (although Hicks was out), Jeffcoat sucks against the run. So many missed tackles its effing ridiculous.
It's so weird. Ash is clutch and the defense is horrible. It's the exact opposite of what we expected.
David Ash has huge balls though. Kid is good. Maybe not Geno good but the kid made plays when we needed him.
Losing Brandon Moore in the middle hurt too. he could take on a double team and in his absence OSU ran right over us.
Appreciate the honesty Texas fans. David Ash impressed the hell out of me tonight. If your D can fond itself I like you to win the B12. KSU or Texas is how I see the B12 rankings.
I'm scared shitless for next week. Geno and co might put up 70 two weeks in a row
Nah, I think you'll will hold them to 60
It's kind of got that same feeling when we played RGIII last year. At least this year its much much earlier.
I agree about the fumble. At worst for OSU it should have been 3rd down. Wouldn't have mattered, the field goal was money from there.
I also was impressed with Ash. He's really improved over last year. Lots of missed tackles by both teams tonight. I'm extremely disapointed in that Texas defense. I was hyping it up all preseason and now I look like a fool. Not sure it's gonna hold up next week if WVU comes ready to play. Still I think Texas has improved quite a bit and are back on the upswing.
WVUs defense might be worse than ours so we've got that going for us
this is true.
Not a surprise. Texas gets the calls. And their D is vastly overrated.
and OSU also got 15 extra yards of field position when their return man touched the ball and directed it out of bounds.
it's not just the players - diaz got his ass handed to him tonight. monken was killing our d, not w/ superior players, but superior x/o work. players missed tackles, but those tackles were in the 2nd and 3rd level of the defense. the talent is there, the athleticism is there, but the execution is terrible and the scheme/def play calling may need some work.
the tackling issue has been there for years - texas has always had guys who want to give the knockout/highlight hit instead of wrapping up and making the sure tackle. no idea wtf is up w/ that. maddening.
the only thing wrong with the call is him crossing the plane. and it wouldnt matter we would have taken the lead anyways.
You and me both brotha.
Not a surprise, pussy ass Status posting on a thread about daddy.
If you knew as much about football as you do about filling up a mason jar with you're man juice (gotta be a small jar) then maybe more people would listen to you.
I just have a problem with it being ruled a touchdown. Kick the FG and keep things honest. I don't doubt that Texas would have likely won, but with replay let's get the call right.
I agree but they never showed the down the goal line shot on the broadcast, makes me wonder if that view was obstructed and yeah it sucks but that is the one you have to see to 100% say he didn't get in.
While I got all yall Tex folks here, how has Hicks turned out? Obviously he's playing but at what level-All Conference?
He isn't playing. He went out, iirc, in the first half against Ole Miss with an injury and likely won't play for a few more weeks.
