Here is a look at the 2013 schedules of the 3 favorites in the SEC West. If you want to see why the "dynasty" that is Bama always seems to have a cakewalk of a schedule compared to other SEC teams then read this. It has also came to light across message boards across the nation that the SEC schedule delegater is a Bama graduate. So if you feel Bama has had an easy path to the title game the last few years then you are correct considering a graduate of the institution has a lot of power in the scheduling room. They will be in here to deny it and rabble rabble rabble but facts speak for themselves see Bama 2009 ... This line stuck out to the me most because its true ... "the last time bama played a schedule like LSUs was 2009. they went 9-3. since then the SEC has coddled them, and suddenly they're a "dynasty".
Okay, a look ahead to 2013 and why the myth will continue to grow ...
TCU (in Dallas)
at Mississippi State
at Ole Miss
Virginia Tech (in Atlanta)
at Texas A&M
Sam Houston State
at Ole Miss
if youre point shaving in basketball, youre not just gonna steal the ball from your teammate and kick it into the stands. it takes a little subtlety. same way with stacking the deck for bama. they cant just hand them the SEC trophy, but they can make life easy for them and hard for us.
1. the obvious: LSU will play from the East division Florida and at UGA (both in the current top 7), Bama will go east and play Tenn and UK (a combined 1-15 in the SEC this year). As TigerNE said, bama was supposed to play UGA this year and next, but that just sorta disappeared.
2. for the third year in a row, we play twice as many high end SEC teams as Bama. LSU gets Bama, Texas AM, UGA, Florida, they get LSU and Texas AM. so LSU is twice as likely to lose, as was the case this year.
3. like Arkansas under Petrino, Texas AM has a complex passing game that gets better as the year goes on. When Ark was good, they were always the third or fourth game on bamas schedule. now they suck, and, magically, Texas AM has moved into that early big game slot (from the 10th game this year to the second game next year).
4. this year, bama played LSU and A&M back to back. they barely beat LSU, lost to A&M (perhaps because they were beat up and tired from LSU). next year those two games, the only two tough games they play, are 6 weeks apart.
this year LSU played A&M and bama back to back (after playing South Carolina and Florida, meaning 4 top 10 teams in a row), but unlike bama, LSUs schedule only changed a little. we play bama, then a bye, then A&M. this works in our favor but also in bamas favor. even if we play well we could already have 2 losses at this point and be out of it, but us beating A&M could make life easier for bama.
5. after playing Texas AM, bama starts a 7 week stretch where they play Ole Miss and Georgia State at home, then at Kentucky, then Arkansas and Tenn at home, then a bye, then us. Ole Miss will be a challenge. Other than that, its 1 road game in seven weeks, 1 FCS school, 4 of the worst teams in the SEC, and a bye leading up to us. should be nice and rested.
LSU on the other hand play at UGA, at Miss State, Florida, at Ole Miss, then Furman and a bye. those last two are nothing of course but we could easily have two losses by then. we have three road games in a month, playing 2 good teams and two really good teams.
people seem to forget or ignore that playing good teams is harder than playing easy teams. it beats you up, it wears you down, and if you lose one its depressing. bama learned that playing LSU and A&M back to back, and that sh*t got changed in a hurry.
the saying "football is a game if inches" is 100 percent true, and these are just a few of the little things that add up to stack the deck for bama, and its been happening for years now. the last time bama played a schedule like LSUs was 2009. they went 9-3. since then the SEC has coddled them, and suddenly they're a "dynasty".
Also, I am not saying that I do not think Bama is a great team. They are great. I just know that if the schedules were flipped this year then we woud be talking about LSU/ND and not Bama/ND.
The biggest myth is that the SEC is tough week in and week out. That it's a weekly grind that teams from other conferences would never be able to handle.
Looking at Bama's schedule the toughest stretch is Va Tech and A&M back-to-back.

You are right. For some teams it is not a myth see South Carolinas schedule this year or LSUs schedule this year and next year. Other teams in the SEC ride the coattails of the week in/week out theory that other teams are playing and act like they do the same.
This year LSU had a stretch this year where they played @ Florida, South Carolina, @ A&M, and Alabama in a row.
Florida has played five top twelve teams this year
South Carolina played UGA, @LSU, and @UF three consecutive weeks.
Alabama and UGA had easy schedules I will admit
U so mad
We complained a lot pre-season about UGA getting @ Bama taken off and it turned out it worked exactly as predicted, but next year we have the slightly easier schedule since LSU isn't coming to Columbia. Instead y'all are going to Athens. To compensate we get 3 road games in a row, granted they're against presumably weaker conference opponents.
And to the OP, you get Florida every year just like we get Tennessee every year.
Not our fault Tennessee blows right now
Feels good man.
You think Bama really controls the scheduling that comes down from the SEC? Get real.
"Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself." -Coach Bryant
You sure are doing a lot of lately. Guess that is to be expected. It is not our fault.
First off, we went 14-0 in 2009. You must be speaking about 2010, when we faced 6 teams that had bye weeks before they played us. Yeah, they really coddled us.
Just to be fair, it did this year. Otherwise you might have seen a rematch is the BCSCG and, at minimum, LSU would be in a BCS bowl.

Don't know what game you are talking about. I don't think I said anything about a conspiracy. I was answering your comment about the East opponent mattering. This year, it did. It mattered that LSU played Florida and SC while Bama played Tennessee and Missouri. If LSU swaps UF with one of those teams, LSU would be 11-1 with only a 4-point loss to Bama and, at worst, in a BCS bowl.
Wait...what? So because Tennessee sucks, it's some Bama conspiracy?
We still had to play the SECCG to get to Miami. Sure, LSU had to play UF, but why is it assumed that they would beat us? LSU also got to play an awful Washington team, is it our fault that Michigan wasn't great this year?
You say if this or that would have happened, LSU would be in the SECCG. You know what? If you would have beaten Alabama this year - then you would have been in the SECCG, but you didn't.
I also think it is funny that the assertion is that Bama is ducking UGA...as if we duck anybody.
You know what else would have kept Bama from being a dynasty?
If LSU would have sent a football team to New Orleans this past Jan.
This. Saban has everyone wipped.
I put on my tin foil hat to read this
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
I'll take "Things Losers Say" for $100, Alex.
Or not lost at home to Bama in regulation.
That's a lot of words to get to the point that LSU couldn't beat Bama the last two times they've played.
I was going to say, but there's really nothing like a good conspiracy theory.
How does the op know the scheduler is a bamma grad? Does the guy do it by himself or does he just run his office with lead pipe cruelty? I want to know this, it's very interesting.
We need to talk to that asshole about our 2010 schedule then when every damn team in the SEC had a schedule tougher than ours.
Florida in 2010 and 2011?
South Carolina in 2009 and 2010?
Georgia has been dodging everybody for some reason.
Any fan of the SEC would know that the schedules rotate( a little screwy this year because of expansion) every team in the west plays every team in the east every 5 years up until this year ofcourse. Bama has a yearly opponent in Tennessee ( they use to be worth a crap ) and we had mizzou this year.
Whats your point, your opinion seems pointless and whiny!
After all, all you had to do was beat us last January or Last month and wouldn't have to worry about our easy soft schedule cry boy!!
